Link is my hero. I grew up with Link. When I was a little boy, I always loved The Legend of Zelda series. I can remember playing Zelda., waking up bright and early to go play it on my Nintendo 64. I loved that Link was an ordinary kid, destined for great things, like going on adventures and conquering every challenge that arose.
I also had a Gameboy Color. When my parents split-up, my sister, my mom and I moved to Oregon. We went there by car. I remember playing The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, DX in the car on the long road. The same familiar music played somewhere throughout each game, and it reminds me of my childhood. I played the game at night, while we were driving to Oregon, with a worm-light that I had bought. I also remember wishing that I could be a hero as well, destined for great things. Link was a child who grew up an orphan, but he was destined for great things, to save the kingdom of Hyrule.
During a bad time in my life, I always thought about how I wished to be Link. I have played almost every Zelda game there is. I love the sense of wonder and discovery, how every game is connected to every other game, and how it all comes together to paint a much bigger picture.
Link, an orphan, was raised in Kokiri forest, in the land of Hyrule, by the Great Deku Tree. He is unlike any of the children in the forest. Link kept getting older, but the children that lived in the forest always stayed young. Link learned the truth about how his mom brought him to the forest to hide him from the wicked Gannon. He sets off in his adventure when he is a teenager.
Link always has to defeat evil in someway. Whether it’s defeating the evil Gannon, saving Princess Zelda, or stopping the world from falling to utter destruction, he always comes out on top. Link has stopped Gannon from taking over the land of Hyrule more than once. He has stopped a big meteor from falling into the world, by recruiting the help of the Four Giants, and he has done a lot more. He is simply a hero. He does what heroes do. He does things for the better good; he is just, and brave. He has made many friends along the way, and will continue doing so as he goes onto his next adventure. Link is my hero for many different reasons. He is humble; he is chosen to be a hero to save the great land of Hyrule, and also to save Princess Zelda. He fights for good and he never gives up.Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of the Zelda series, is a genius. He has created the most inspirational character that I know of. Link is a hero in the gaming world, and he is my hero as well.
