Marie Curie

She was born on the month of November of the year 1934, on the day 7, in Warsaw to Polow. Her intelligent parents where Skłodowski and Bronisława,. She was born in a poor house with five brothers. In junior high school she was the first in her class and she persevered in learning, she was very intelligent. She liked to learn, so she went to a University. It was illegal because the women on that time could not study in the University, but she didn’t care. She went to Paris in the year of 1891 and she studied chemistry and physics in Sobrona. She had anemia, and was the first woman who taught in Sorbian. In the year of 1893 she graduated in Physics and later in 1894 in math. She met Pierre Curie, a professor in physics, so later she got married in the month of July, 1894. In the year of 1896 she discovered the x ray, later she discovered the natural radioactivity. In 1897 she had her first daughter named Irene. Her husband, Pierre Curie, died 11 years later.

I Think that Marie Curie was an important person in the scientific society, because she had many discoveries. She discovered that many elements can produce radioactivity. She discovered two new radioactivity elements. The first was the polonium, she named it like that because of her country Poland. And the second one was the radium, because of its high radioactivity.

Marie Curie was a person who was more intelligent that the people of her century. She had an incredible perseverance, she was always working. Her husband, Pierre Curie always was bringing the tools and elements so Marie could work in her scientific projects.

Marie Curie has impacted my life by her extraordinary perseverance on her scientific work. Her study and enthusiasm for learning and for being more intelligent that has inspired many people to finish their studies, her way of thinking, about physics and chemistry.

I choose Marie Curie for “My Hero”, because she is an intelligent woman. I think that more people should be like her. In her life, since she was born she had many problems; her mother died of tuberculosis. Her sister died of typhoid fever. Also her husband died 11 years after her marriage. She died from radioactivity, but we always should remember her as a brave person who has perseverance and enthusiasm for learning.
