Bolstered by major airplay on Disney radio, nearly every one of her single releases, under her name and/or Hannah Montana's, has achieved a chart position. More important, her first two albums hit number one on the Billboard pop charts within the space of one year, something no teen idol had done before. (Contemporary Musicians). Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana) Was a pop star almost all her life because of the fame her dad (Billy Ray Cyrus) received when she was a child. In fact, she was born on the same year her Dad rose to stardom with his hit country song "Achy Breaky Heart". According to Biography.com, "Born Destiny Hope Cyrus, November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee, legally changed name to Miley Ray Cyrus, 2008; daughter of Billy Ray (a country singer/actor) and Leticia Cyrus... Best known as the title character of the Disney sitcom Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus is one in a long line of young talents, from Annette Funicello and Haley Mills to Hillary Duff and the cast of High School Musical, who have been nurtured by Disney Studios. Cute, perky, and blessed with a mature command of her vocal chops, Cyrus's popularity with pre-teens exploded in 2006, making her into one of the entertainment industry's top grossing acts" (Biography Today). A hero should be ambitious and confident. Being ambitious is having the strong desire and determination to succeed while confident is feeling or showing certainty about something; in this case she is confident about herself and her abilities. Miley Cyrus is worthy of the title hero because she was and still is ambitious in her dreams, and shows a strong sense of confidence in herself.

            Miley Cyrus's ambitious attitude even at a young age has given people the hope that if she can do it, anyone can. She has of course wrote many songs, some of which reflect her own life. In the song "The Climb", she describes in first person a journey up a mountain by which can only be conquered by determination and will. The first stanza says:

"I can almost see it.

That dream I'm dreaming, but

There's a voice inside my head saying

You'll never reach it

Every step I'm takin'

Every move I make

Feels lost with no direction,

My faith is shakin'

But I, I gotta keep tryin'

Gotta keep my head held high" (The Climb).

She knows her dream and there's a driving force pulling her there and she wants it, however the voice in her head represents "haters" who tell her that she can't.  She only believes in herself and "keeps her head held high" to continue and accomplish her ambitions. Miley Cyrus did not accomplish her ambitions by herself. She was inspired by her father, Billy Ray Cyrus to join show business. As the father recalled "Since she was little, she would look at me confidently and say,'I'm going to blow by you, Daddy. I'm going to be a singer, songwriter, entertainer'"(Biography Today). At first he discouraged her, knowing that show business can involve a lot of heartbreak. But Miley was persistent. When Billy Ray Cyrus began filming "Doc," he allowed her to act in a few episodes. These experiences gave her confidence and strengthened her feeling that show business was right for her. Even at a young age, she knew what she wanted to do, and her dad helped her reach it. She was so ambitious that she followed through into adulthood and now makes music which gets many hits. Many people can be inspired by many things; for example, Miley Cyrus's ambitious attitude has given many the courage to follow their dreams. Not only is she ambitious, she is also self-confident.

Confidence is an attractive trait and Miley Cyrus was able to inspire (probably only) me by showing off this trait everywhere she goes. As a brilliant artist does, she puts two themes into the same song. In the climb, she also shows that she has confidence in herself to complete the task at hand. The chorus of the song goes:

"The struggles I'm facing

The chances I'm taking

Sometimes might knock me down, but

No I'm not breaking

I may not know it, but

These are the moments that

I'm gonna remember most, yeah

Just gotta keep goin',

And I, I gotta be strong

Just keep pushing on," (The Climb).

She's self-confident enough that she can follow through and keeps on going and is sure of herself to continue although sometimes she may fall. Self confidence is an attractive trait and can be admired by many because many people care a lot about how they look. Not only is she confident in her skills, she is also confident in her looks and actions and is not afraid to be judged. As she was interviewed, she said "'I think just never trying too hard,' Miley explained to ET Online.'My favourite thing is I love having short hair. I love it being just all about being confident and giving face. I love that'" (Confidence is sexy). She was once a nice girl, but her radical makeover just was controversial and she knew that people were talking about her, so she is confident enough to deal through the hate. She does not conform to other people's idea of her but is just herself. Just as Jesus can walk on water and Jimi Hendrix can play the guitar with his teeth, so can Miley Cyrus flutter about the Hollywood scene with confidence and finesse. 

By being ambitious and confident, Miley Cyrus shows to the average person that she is a person to be admired. By being ambitious at a young age, she was able to lead a successful life in the show business and by being self-confident, she was able to know that she can persevere and was able to find her true self. Miley Cyrus inspires me because of her current attitude of "can't be tamed" and her ways of life. All that she does is make me feel like I'm not as cool as her, so I have to follow her in order to get a glimpse of the fabulous lifestyle of Miley Cyrus. Miley Cyrus is a party animal, confident yet ambitious about her dreams and that is someone I would like.
