Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of the most successful and recognizable cricket captains from India, was featured in the one of the most recognizable magazines. Dhoni's started was "Born July 7, 1981, in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India" (Newsmakers). "...he was the son of Pan Singh and Devaki Dev"(Newsmaker). When Dhoni was a young child, he was "the goalkeeper for the soccer team and an outstanding badminton player"(Newsmakers). Dhoni was one of the best player in others sports before he went to play cricket."It was his soccer coach who encouraged Dhoni to play cricket..." because of this encouragement is why Dhoni is now playing cricket today(Gale). "His stellar performances in the Deodhar Trophy and Duleep Trophy tournaments attracted the attention of India's national cricket team selectors"(Gale). Dhoni was able to show his skills that impressed many others and some important people, which got him the spot to the national team. "Since then, Dhoni hasn't looked back, and stands today as India's most successful and celebrated captain across all three formats"(Kaushik). Dhoni was able to become the captain for three national teams and gain many victories. His stellar performances in the Deodhar Trophy and Duleep Trophy tournaments attracted the attention of India's national"(Gale). A hero must possess leadership and be able to make brave decisions that no one else makes. M.S Dhoni makes brave decisions that leads others to believe he is a hero.  

He chased his passion of playing in the competitive sport of Indian cricket: "In this time period, Indian Railways hired Dhoni, where he was a ticket collector while playing cricket..."(Newsmakers). By quitting his job, he risked his future, but he was able to continue on his journey, ultimately, joining the national team and become captain. Dhoni played with his risks and made brave decisions, because of his decisions, it proved him as a hero. He was able to move onto the better teams because of his skill:"... then continued to work his way up the ranks on the cricket circuit." (Gale). He was able to make it to major competitions because of his skills, and he was able to climb the ladder to the national team. By playing cricket, he was able to do well and was able to find his "true niche"(Gale). Through his decision of playing cricket and advancing through the teams, he was taking a risk, for he could have studied better for a better future, but still took his chances, and as a result, was able to join the national team.

Dhoni portrayed his strong leadership skills throughout his national career and his victories. He was able to become the captain in the national ODI (One Day International) team and lead them to numerous victories. "Dhoni was considered an amazing captain with strong leadership  skills"(Newsmakers). He has good leadership skills, which resulted in gaining many awards and medals, and to be recognized as"...one of the highest earning cricketers in the world"(Newsmakers). His victories as captain, it lead many others to look up to him because he was able to gain victories in a national sport. When Dhoni started playing test matches, he was able to bring his team to victories and defeats. "Dhoni took his team to the top spot in the Test rankings the following December, then secured his place in the  pantheon"(Kaushik). When Dhoni became the captain of Indian national team, he lead his team to many victories and defeats. Through his victories and defeat, he displayed his natural skills unlike many other captains before him. Through his journey, Dhoni uses his good leadership skills to reaching the national captain and performing well to become the captain of that team. Dhoni's heroism was shown through his many decision as in his life and in his career, for he was able to make decisions that impacted both his life and his career.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is hero because of his skills to make brave decisions and his ability to guide others to victory. Dhoni was able to convert from soccer to cricket, eventually becoming one the best Indian cricket captains. Through his life, had many support from his parents to the many teams he played for, which help him to improve his skills and go the big leagues and becoming the captain in three divisions. MS Dhoni is viewed as inspirational hero because of his ability to go professional despite coming from a poor background, he stayed calm through defeat, and brought many victories for India. He was able to go to the national team from a poor family, he did this by pursuing his main goal of playing national cricket, the support of many others, and his skills lead him to where is today. His actions throughout his many games, was seen as inspirational, for he had good sportsmanship and was able to engage with his games through a positive view.  M.S Dhoni is remarked as hero because of his good leadership skills and making brave decisions, which influenced him and his career, and made him one of the best and most recognizable captains in the cricket world and India. Through his long and difficult journey to become a cricketer, Dhoni has showed his many skills and is now seen as a inspirational hero, for he had shown them through his many games and his actions. A hero is a person, who posses the traits to make brave decisions and to lead others. M.S Dhoni has these traits and is why he is seen as a hero.
