I will be doing this on my grandma. Her name is Maria Ferraro and she is the most loving and caring person I know. She was born in Italy with my grandpa Michael Ferraro but they lived in two different parts of Italy so their families didn't trust them with each other. They grew up knowing each other for a long time and they both had the same religious faiths. My grandma moved to America when she was around 20 years old and she went to college over here. I don't know when my grandpa moved over here or if he moved over with my grandma but I know that my grandma did come over here to go to college. She knew when she came over here that it would be very hard for her because she only knew one language which was Italian and she had to take it in college so that she could communicate with people and i think she spoke broken English and it got her through some conversations until she learned English. Now i would say that she is very good at speaking English and she never dropped Italian; it's like in the back of her mind when she talks to our cousins from Italy.
My grandma has always been really close with God. I remember when she used to babysit me and my sister and all around her house you would see crosses and a whole bunch of stuff like that and you still see it. Both of my grandparents are really religious they always go to church on Sundays and they are very respectful people and try to follow God's Word. I chose to write about my grandma because I really do look up to her, she is a great person and she always took care of me when my parents were at work and i was sick. She has made a really big impact on my life and i love that i have a grandma like her. One time my grandma and i were at her house and i was sick. She would always take me with her to go to church in the morning and then come back to take care of me for the rest of the day. She always put God before anything else because i don't think she has missed one mass in a really long time.
When my grandma came over from Italy she knew that she wanted to start a new life with my grandpa but she was still just 20 so she didn't know what exactly she was doing. She has always inspired me in many ways and i look up to her so much. Well i used to look up to her now i look down to her because she is shorter then me but i will always look up to her no matter what height we are. Another reason why i think my grandma is a part of faith is because she treats people with so much respect and kindness and even if they are rude to her she finds some way to forgive and move on. To have that kind of bravery and strength is amazing to me, like when a person gets mad at another person they sometimes stay mad at each other for awhile but my grandma's different and that's one of the biggest reasons i think she is a part of faith because she can forgive the people that hurt her. Someday when i get older i want to be exactly like her, i want the courage, and the strength that she still has today.
