Misty Hawkins

My hero is my mom, Misty. She has many heroic characteristics. My mom’s first characteristic is kindness. She is extremely kind, especially when she helps me when I’ sick or hurt. No matter what my symptoms, she’s always there. If I need surgery, if I just have a cold, she's always there. I hope I can do the same to her but I can’t match her perfect kindness. I think Misty has a perfect amount of kindness.

She has even more heroic qualities. Some examples are perseverance, helpfulness, and adaptability. She used perseverance during her many moves. She had to keep moving forward when she moved from state to state. Her helpfulness is very useful. She helps me with school and personal problems. From a multiplication problem to a best friend break up. She’s always there for me. Her adaptability was very useful during her childhood. She moved to many different places. She moved to Colorado (where she lives now} from Florida (where she was born).

My mom has much other heroic stuff. But I’m going to talk about her family. She was married on August 2. She married my dad, Todd. They lived together for 7 years. Then I came along. I was a small baby. 2 and half years later my brother came along. We had dog named Pebbles. She had cancer, but was very old when she died. Then my mom and dad bought our new dog, Scamp. We’ve always had a cat. My mom has a sister and a mom living right now. Her dad died from smoking. Mom was a teacher and a cook. She met my dad at Taco Bell.

My mom is a hero within, or a hero who helps others after thinking about it. She does Relay for Life. That is an organization that helps people with any kind of cancer. She raises money to save people from cancer. Last year she won an ipod touch in a quick draw. My mom cares about everyone.

My mom is a terrific person. She is now living in a family of 6. Misty, (mom) Todd, (dad) Jason, (bro) me, (sis) Scamp, (dog) Kitty, (cat). We live in Colorado. I’m in fifth grade and my brother is in second. My mom works for estimating. My dad works for Schools. She couldn’t possibly be a better match for me and the rest of my family. If you’re reading this mom, Thank- you very much.
