Martin Luther King was the one and only KING of today's society. Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist, minister, and a Christian born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929 . He had many accomplishments before he was assassinated on April 4, 1968. One of those accomplishments was being the youngest man to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. In peoples eyes, Martin Luther King Jr. was a hero. He changed our world by using his determination, non-violent protesting, and the way he overcame adversity.

Martin Luther King Jr. was very determined man. He would do anything to bring the people of the world together. "In the eleven-year period between 1957 and 1968, King traveled over six million miles and spoke over twenty-five hundred times, appearing wherever there was injustice, protest, and action;" (http://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/peace/laureates/1964/king-bio.html). This shows how MLK would go out of his way to stop the violence and injustice that there was back then. He would walk millions of miles, get arrested, and even sacrifices his life just to make the world better place. "Constant rejection, fierce intimidation tactics, looked upon as unruly with society's structure; was just some of the adversity and MLK Jr. had to endure." (Yura Bryant).  After all that rejection and hate, MLK never give up on what he believed in and kept having faith. Overall MLK was a very tenacious and determined human being. He would travel the whole world just to stop the violence, crime, and inequality.

MLK had to overcome adversity over and over again. Being a civil rights activist was going to be very hard, but that wasn't going to stop King. " (He had also become a target for white supremacist, who firebombed his family home that January.)" ("Martin Luther King Jr." History.com. ). Even when they bombed MLK's house that didn't stop him from fighting for what he believed in. "During these days of boycott, King was arrested, his home was bombed, he was subjected to personal abuse, but at the same time he emerged as a Negro leader of the first rank." (http://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/peace/laureates/1964/king-bio.html). MLK was getting arrested, bombed, and subjected to abuse but this time he came out as a leader and he overcame and punched adversity right in the face. Martin Luther King had to face and overcome adversity for sure. That didn't stop him at all though, he used his faith and belief in God to carry him on his Journey to make the world peaceful.

Martin Luther King Jr. played a big role in the African- American Civil Rights Movement. He was a very tenacious human being who fought for what he believed in. MLK Jr. should be greatly appreciated in our world today because he brought black and whites together and impacted the world by using his non-violent civil disobedience. MLK Jr.inspired me to fight for what I believe in, but in a non-violent way. Martin Luther King Jr. was and still is a HERO.
