Marie Marvingt was born on 20 February 1875 in Aurillac in France and she died at 88 years old on 14 December in Laxou in France. She was a pilot.

She spoke 7 different languages. In 1899, she was among the first women to have her license. She passed 4 pilot licenses. She broke a lot of world records. On 26 October 1909, she was the first woman to pilot an aerostat. In 1960, she piloted the first helicopter, Le Djinn.

Marie Marvingt was brave and she was good in a lot of sports. She was determined to succeed and over prejudice. Marie Marvingt was a pioneer in aviation in France. She fought against gender stereotypes and she was rewarded 34 times.
