Michelle Millet

by Jacob from Simpsonville

My hero isn’t someone that has necessarily saved my life, but she is my hero in many different ways. That hero is my mom. Her name is Michelle Millet. She does things for me that I really don’t pay attention to. My mom leaves for work every day at the time.

Michelle Millet was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is the youngest of 5 girls. She was always the baby in the house and looked on as the youngest. Being the youngest she got everything used from her sisters. Her mom died exactly a month after I was born. That is a little about where my mom came from.

About two years ago my dad got laid off from his job, and my mom began to look for a job. Up until that time she had stayed at home and did things around the house. Now she was searching for a job, and trying to learn more about computers so she would have more qualifications for a job. After about a month she found not one but two jobs. Now she leaves at around 8 in the morning and comes home at about 8 every night. Once she gets home, she does things around the house, and I have never once heard her complain about it.

My mom also is the person that keeps my family together. My dad, sister, and I are all extremely hard headed and tend to argue a lot. My mom is the one that plays somewhat like a peace keeper. When we all get in arguments she will be there to settle it before things are said. Without her we would constantly be fighting and our family really wouldn’t be like it is with her in it. I really don’t know what my family would do without my mom.

That is why my mom is my hero, because she works harder than anyone I know and holds my family together. I don’t think anyone in my family really gives her the respect she deserves she works all day, and even if she is sick will still go to work. My mom isn’t my hero from the aspect that she has saved my life or something like that. She is my hero from a different aspect. She would do anything for me or anyone else in my family, and we really don’t thank her enough.
