Mattie Montgomery didn't know he was born on earth to become a Christian rock singer, he thought he was just an ordinary kid who was supposed to get straight A's through school but when he started to read about Jesus Christ and God, there was no stopping him.

Mattie Montgomery is my hero for 3 main reasons. The first reason he is my hero is because, he is a music artist and sings for my favorite band. The band he sings for is For Today. This makes him my hero because he sings about God and tries to make people believe and worship him. This is special because some people don't like sitting there and listening to people talk about God, but would rather hear about it through song.

The second reason I think Mattie Montgomery is my hero is because, he is also a preacher. This makes him my hero because he preaches before he sings at his concerts and goes to different churches and talks about God. He usually sings at churches instead of arenas and big places that usually hold big performances. When he preaches before he sings, he always asks people to not to curse, swear or anything that might be a sin.

The third Reason I think Mattie Montgomery is my hero is because he tries to help people and does good deeds. Mattie Montgomery always asked before the concerts begin if there is anyone having problems in their life or if anything bad has happened to them lately, then talks to them about God and how he can help. Mattie goes to church organizations or anything that might help the community. He has always wanted to be like Jesus Christ since he started reading about him and wanted to heal the weakened.

Mattie Montgomery is my hero because he sings for my favorite band, preaches the word of God and helps people whenever he can. Mattie tries spreading the word of God through his music and voice. His band "For Today" tries to name their songs after fathers, or main idols that are in the bible as in Ezekiel, Isaiah and Joel. Mattie Montgomery has influenced me and many others to follow and worship God more than I used to.
