Michael Oher

Michael Oher. Do you take your clothes, house and food for granted? Well Michael Oher only had a little food, no house, and didn't have a lot of clothes! Michael Oher is an African American and now plays professional football for the Baltimore Ravens. (#74 tackle) Michael is 26 and is adopted by the Touhy family. The movie The Blind Side was based off of him and his life. Michael has been through a lot but is supported by family, he has just won the 2013 super bowl playing for the Ravens. His adoptive family is supportive and his dad was murdered when he was young and his mom was doing drugs and had to be sent to jail.

His Childhood: Michael was born on May 28, 1986 he was born in Memphis, Tennessee. His birth parents are Michael Jerome Williams (his dad) and Denise Oher (his Mom). Oher had 9 brothers and sisters. His adoptive parents are Sean Touhy (adoptive dad) Leigh Ann Touhy ( adoptive Mom). Michael also has new adoptive brothers and sisters, Little Sean and his sister Collins. Michael went to Briarcrest Christian school and the University of Mississippi (2005-2008).

Obstacles in life and Major Accomplishments. Michael was homeless and living on the streets. When he had to trust this southern family he didn't even know! They hard part was letting go of his mother who was doing drugs and was taken to jail. One accomplishment Michael completed was football. He trained and practiced to play once he got to the Touhy house. Then he got accepted into Mississippi University. Now 2013 Michael has just won the Super Bowl. Michael really loves football and his family supports him.

Traits of my Hero Michael Oher is dedicated in a lot of ways. One thing he is dedicated to is football. Michael really works hard and has just won the Super Bowl for the Ravens 2013). Michael is also showed perseverance Michael had a really rough life but he pushes through and keeps on going even if things are bad. He's also very loyal, he is nice and loyal to people and to his family. Michael is faithful and a good guy and teammate. Me and Michael are the same in a way too! I'm dedicated to soccer. Personal Connection. I choose Michael Oher because the first time I watched the movie The Blind Side and heard of Michael Oher I thought he was really cool and an inspiration. Also when the Ravens and 49's were in the Super Bowl I wanted the Ravens to win because of him. Michael and I also have our differences and similarities. One way we are the same is we both play offense in our sports we play. One difference is that he has been through harder times than I have. Another difference is we play different sports. He plays football and I play soccer. Those are some differences and similarities between me and Michael. So if you ever pout that your mom won't buy you your favorite snack or a cute shirt maybe a new rug for your bedroom? Think about Michael, and what he had to go through.
