Mark Ormrod is a man that lived after losing both his legs and his right arm. He worked for the marines, and lived in the United Kingdom. When Mark lost his limbs he needed over 20 pints of blood pumped into him. After the explosion, he committed himself to helping people with lost limbs. Later in his life he reunited with one of the marines he was with while on patrol.

Mark was born December 1st, 1982 in Adelaide. He was dating Becky, who he proposed to after getting his prosthetic legs. He managed to hobble down the aisle at his wedding. He stepped on a landmine that was strapped to a Chinese 107 rocket, both covered by sand and mud after a heavy rainfall.

Despite the extensive nature of his injuries, Ormrod has been offered £ 214,000 in compensation, rather than the maximum MoD package of £285,000. He soon quit from the government because he had to pay £26,000 for his specially-made sockets. Mark flew to America for the first time in June 2007, where he was fitted with the temporary polypropylene sockets. Since they were a success, he went back to have permanent carbon fiber ones fitted. He ran over 24 miles while in a marathon race.

Mark Ormrod helps people in the world with lost limbs. Even though he lost his legs he still didn’t give up; he fought through the pain. Mark is a real hero.

Mark is a brave man that won’t give up and will help people in need. He will help people all over the world. I will strive to be like him by helping handicapped people, and people with diseases.
