A hero in my terms is someone who sacrifices everything to help others. they give up their time, their passion and even their health,  all for the betterment of others.  A hero is someone who is absolutely selfless.

I believe it is important to have a hero, because it can give you a sense of direction and can help you to be a better person.

Michael Sewell,  is a man who has sacrificed his time, his dreams, his passion, and his health to give the band the absolute best experience they can have. He is the one man who has taken an academically registered band to as many venues and opportunities as he has taken us. Not only that but he also always stands by us and he always stands by his faith. He has been a father to all of his students and we have been changed by this experience.

I believe Mr. Sewell should be inducted into a hall of fame because we have had more superior ratings, more awards and more fun under his tutelage than any other band in the northeastern states. This is a man that deserves the best but asks for nothing.  

Mr. Sewell's personal hero is the people who make things happen, who go out of their way for someone else's benefit.  His hero has no name and no face because it is many people. Mr. Sewell studied music for many many years. He often says that he doesn't want to count them because then he feels old. He does what he does all because it helps us and because he wants us to be prepared for our college career. He holds his faith very, very highly upon his list of priorities, meaning number 1 God is a very prominent force in his life and has inspired me to further my faith as well.  I asked him two years ago whether he thought his actions made a difference in anyone's lives and his reply to me was i don't care if there is a crowd of ten thousand people listening to me and not one of them hears me as long as one person is influenced (for the better) by what i say and because you're asking me this i know that I've done just that, and he truly has.  Mr. Sewell was my father when i had none, my friend when the rest weren't, and a great mentor when the world taught me pain.  I respect Mr. Sewell because he has been the greatest influence in my life. I hope I can have half the effect upon someone else's life as he has upon mine.
