Maggie Steffens professional picture (http://web.poptower.com/maggie-steffens.htm ()) |
Maggie Steffens is a professional Olympic water polo player. I first became aware of her when I was watching the London Summer Olympics 2012. I saw that she was the star player for the national team and was making most of the goals for the team at such a young age. I also became aware of her because my sister said that she had met her at a Women in Sports conference and I was curious on who she was so I had done some personal research. What attracts me to Maggie Steffens is that she is such a hard-working athlete and she had set her mind to one of the highest goals she had and with all her hard work and dedication she reached her goals within years. Another thing that attracts me to her career is that I also play water polo and would love to make the national team and be in her position someday. I love playing water polo and really enjoy watching her games on TV.

You could be a manager for the team, there are many possibilities. Usually to become a professional athlete you must have at least a high school diploma, minimum. You also need to have great knowledge on how the sport works and what the rules and regulations are. To become a professional athlete you should have many years of experience in the sport and should have great skill in the sport which requires a lot of hard training. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, the pay on average is about $40,000, but the serious athlete can make up to about $187,200+. Employment of athletes is expected to grow 7 percent from 2012 to 2022, which is slower than average for most occupations. Some similar jobs related to this career include Coaches/Scouts, Fitness Trainers, Recreation workers, and Referees or other sport officials. Some new recent developments in professional athletic careers can be new uniforms or rules and competitors. In water polo, the national team as gained a new rival, Australia.

Maggie Steffens after just scoring a goal (http://summergames.ap.org/boston/content/maggie-st ()) |
Maggie Steffens has been a very successful water polo player for many years. She has been very athletic all her life, even as a young child and she has a lot of determination in her body. She sets high goals and puts in loads of effort to achieve those goals. To be successful in this career, or any professional sports career, you must be very determinated and must be very athletic and hard-working. Maggie Steffens went to Monte Vista High School, years 2008-2012, and captained the water polo team as a senior and also helped the team to four straight CIF North Coast Section titles and four in-a-row league titles, according to the DanVille Patch.com. She was practically the star player in high school. She also went to Stanford University and played water polo for them too. Some milestones in Maggie Steffens career was when she was officially accepted on to the national team since 2009. Another milestone is when she earned Olympic MVP honors and led all players with 21 goals as the U.S. captured Olympic Gold at the 2012 London Games.
Maggie Steffens is on the USA Olympic National Team with older sister, Jessica Steffens. Her dad always tells people about how much of a positive role model Maggie is. Everyone loves Maggie because she led the Olympic team to gold in the 2012 Olympics, from "gostanford.com". Maggie makes a huge difference in the world and has a great influence on athletes all over the world because she models great determination and hard-work which is admired by a lot of people. Maggie makes a huge difference in the world and is looked up to by many, many people, especially those who are involved in aquatics.
Maggie was a very successful high school student. Maggie was a part of her school's water polo program all four years; she became water polo captain, and led the team to four in-a-row CIF Northern Section Finals. She dominated all of the games, being the star player. She would work with the freshman and sophomores and try to help them with their water polo skills on her free time. She also is attending Stanford University but her college major is undeclared still. She plays for the Stanford water polo team and dominates in all games. I am very inspired by Maggie Steffens in many different ways. I look up to her as an athlete and I have learned from her that with hard work and determination all things are possible. I hope to try my best in water polo right now, in hopes that one day I can be just like her. My plans for the future is going to a top school, hopefully on a water polo scholarship, and after graduating, finding my dream job. I plan on staying in water polo as long as possibly, and soon joining the Senior Women's team. If I can not make the National team like Maggie Steffens did, I still hope to play on a club team. Maggie Steffens is a true inspiration and my personal career hero.
