Imagine walking through the streets of India and seeing people sick, hurt and suffering. Many people experienced this. But, Mother Teresa was one of few who helped them. Mother Teresa's childhood helped shape her into the person that she grew up to be. She faced difficult things but, she kept pushing through. Mother Teresa gave back to others even when she had some major accomplishments. She showed steadfast bravery even when it was hard.

Mother Teresa's childhood helped form the kind person who helped others. Mother Teresa grew up in a church where she gave her life to God at a young age. She was born on August 26, 1910 and was baptized the next day on August 27, 1910. She mainly grew up with her mother since her father died when she seven years old. Her mother raised her with love and care. Her mother taught her to give to others. Mother Teresa always had a passion for charity since she was young. Her mother felt very strongly about charity as well.

Mother Teresa was criticized for helping others. She was made fun of a lot. But, normally for begging for money for suffering people or for caring for unwanted people. She had to leave her family that she was close to in 1928. She left her family so she could join the Sister's of Loreto. Mother Teresa had to do this so she could become certified to be a missionary. This was hard for Mother Teresa because she had to learn English. She suffered in her later years from multiple heath problems. "She suffered from Malaria and left heart ventricle. She had heart surgery, but it was clear her heath was declining." (Wikipedia) She suffered from other heath issues as well.

Mother Teresa accomplished a lot, but she continued to care about others. Mother Teresa traveled through war zones to save children. She received over nine awards. This includes the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. She then donated the 192,000 dollars from the Nobel Peace Prize to people in need. By 1979 she had over 200 missions worldwide. "Mother Teresa quickly translated this somewhat vague calling into concrete actions to help the city's poor." (Biography.com) Mother Teresa changed the world through her major accomplishments.

Mother Teresa was brave and determined in everything she did. This helps contribute to her steadfast bravery characteristic. She was not put in very many life threatening situations, but she was put in a lot of scary ones. Mother Teresa went hungry without much money. Barely enough to survive in some cases. She normally didn't have enough heath care to stay healthy. But, she continued to push through and care more about others than herself. Mother Teresa once said, "Not all can do great things. But, we can all do small things with great love." Mother Teresa showed this in everything she did. This quote shows steadfast bravery in a whole new way.

"If you judge people, you have no time to love them." (Mother Teresa) This quote shows a clear representation of how Mother Teresa used her life. This quote shows why she is a hero to me. Mother Teresa represented Jesus Christ not just through her words but, her actions as well. Mother Teresa helped others despite their differences. She did not care about what others had to say about what she was doing for other people. She just did it. Mother Teresa represents true heroism to me and hopefully to you too.
