Mother Teresa was born on August 26, 1910, in Skopje, Macedonia. On August 27, 1910 she was baptized as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. Her parents are named Nikola (Father) and Dranafile (Mother) Bojaxhiu. She is the youngest out of her two siblings. Her father worked as a construction contractor and a trader of medicines and other goods. Her mother was involved in the local church as well as in city politics as a vocal proponent of Albanian independence. In 1919, when Agnes was 8 years old, her father felt ill and died people say that her father's death remains unknown and other people say enemies poisoned him. After her father's death she became really close to her mother. Agnes attended a convent-run primary school and then a state-run secondary school. As a girl Agnes sang in the local Sacred Heart choir and was often asked to sing solos. At age 12 Agnes first felt a calling to religious life. At age 18 Agnes decided to become a nun and set of for Ireland to join the Sisters of Loreto in Dublin. At the Sisters of Loreto she got the name sister Mary Teresa after a saint name Therese of Lisieux. Mother Teresa is a hero because she never gave up on helping the poor, she was always caring for others instead of herself, and she was considerate and treated people the way they wanted to be treated.
Mother Teresa was a caring person she established a religious community called the Missionaries of Charity Sisters, dedicated to the service of the poorest of the poor. On December 21, Mother Teresa went to the slums for the first time. She visited families, washed the sores of some children, cared for an old man lying sick on the road and nursed a woman dying of hunger and tuberculosis. She opened an orphanage for kids that were abandoned. She helped people get a good education. Rosa Parks said this about what Mother Teresa did for the poor. "What her workers, sisters and brothers alike, give to the poor is much more than medical care. They give unconditional love to those who are shunned by the rest of the world. Mother Teresa was a practical woman with one goal in life: to serve the poor". ("Parks".). Mother Teresa devoted her entire life caring for the poor, the sick, the needy, and the helpless.
Mother Teresa did a lot of stuff for the wealthy and poor. That's why I think Mother Teresa is a caring person.Mother Teresa was considerate when it came to helping the poor. Mother Teresa always was the person to come to whenever there was a problem. She is known for having a loving and considerate mind. Mother Teresa said by being considerate "Spread the love of God through your life but only use words when necessary." ("Mother Teresa."). Mother Teresa always had big dreams and she set out to achieve them. Mother Teresa was considerate with the "the unwanted, the unloved and the uncared for." ("Mother Teresa."). Mother Teresa would always treat people like her own flesh and blood. Mother Teresa was a great person I'm glad she is my hero. Mother Teresa always put people first instead of herself she is a truthful person and I think people would like her as a hero.
Mother Teresa is a hero to me because she never judged people. At first I didn't know much about her but when I started researching her and doing this project she became my inspiration she make me want to do better in the world. She always achieved great things and never was negative. I always see celebrities do what Mother Teresa did (Ex. One Direction) One Direction went to Ghana to visit the kids in the hospitals that were sick they did this thing called Red Nose Day. One Direction saw the kids in Ghana with poverty still, they raised £2 million for the kids in Ghana. Mother Teresa is a hero to me because she was so dedicated and she put in her work to help the poor in India. She showed determination and humbleness. I love that Mother Teresa was always dedicated Mother Teresa's life serves as a lesson in how one can accomplish great things by working diligently and selflessly on small things daily. "As I often say to people who tell me that they would like to serve the poor as I do," ("Mother Teresa.").
