Mark Tremonti is a well-known guitar player. He is currently in the bands Creed and Alter Bridge. The problem is not many people know how well Tremonti plays guitar, or how hard he had to work for the skills he’s acquired. In my opinion he’s the greatest in the world, not only because of his skill, but because of his lifestyle. He’s not what a typical rock star is like, so I’m going to tell about his determination, dedication, encouraging attitude, and his talent.

The first characteristic of Mark Tremonti is his determination. He started playing guitar at age 11. He didn’t really know how it worked but he just liked to pluck the strings. Tremonti decided to try taking lessons. He went to one lesson, and the instructor tried teaching him basics but he wanted to play Metallica. He then left and never sought lessons from another person. He was determined to teach himself and that’s how he got his unique style and sound.

His second characteristic is dedication. Growing up Tremonti moved from Detroit, to Florida, and then to California. He felt out of place at his school in California because most of the people there listened to pop music. So Tremonti spent pretty much all of his time locked in his room playing guitar. He would rent instructional DVD’s for free from a music store near his home. He’s dedicated because he would practice eight hours a day and continue to learn from these DVD’s. Still to this day he practices eight hours a day to be the best guitar player he can be.

Tremonti’s third characteristic I really admire is his encouraging attitude and inspirational example to kids. Unlike most rock stars, he doesn’t do drugs or get intoxicated on stage. If he’s playing for a crowd in the thousands, he wants to put on a show that is flawless, instead of getting wasted and messing up. He has put out his own instructional DVD to teach people how to play his music. His DVD includes several other players of his choosing and demonstrates some tricks and techniques that he uses.

In my opinion Mark Tremonti is one of the greatest guitar players in the world. He’s one of my biggest inspirations in my music and style that I play. He’s a great role model for kids learning instruments and those who want to achieve greatness and work hard for what they want. This is why I believe Mark Tremonti is a hero and has heroic qualities.
