My hero is Morgan Tsvangirai, the prime minister of Zimbabwe and leader of Movement for Democratic Change (MDC). He is my hero because he risked his life to have democracy in the Republic of Zimbabwe. He was abused by the government officials such as the police who detained him due to his political inspiration and struggle for transitional government.
He is a hero in that despite all intimidation he had from his rivals, especially from the ruling party, he did accept and welcome them to form a power sharing deal with President Mugabe. Many incidents happened to MDC leader Morgan such as when he sought refugee in an Irish embassy in Zimbabwe and also involving being in an accident which led to the death of his wife. Despite all these incidents, he was ready and determined to fight until Zimbabwe has democratic government.

He is a hero in how he has paved a way to improve on the economy of Zimbabwe which had a high rocket inflation rate. It is due to Morgan to accept the power sharing deal which led to other countries such as the South Africa and USA to reduce the sanctions which were imposed on the country due to president Mugabe's failing to comply with international obligations.
South Africa and the USA allowed the country of Zimbabwe to adopt its currencies as the means for business, commercial and financial activities. Both the US dollar and the Rand of South Africa are accepted as the legal tender in the country. This has led to many foreign investors such as the Chinese to invest in the country.

He is a hero in that he went to the USA and meet the US president Obama and discussed the issues which are affecting the country's economy. The Obama Administration responded to Morgan's request and funded a $73 millions to Zimbabwe sectors such as the education department. US gave Zimbabwe money to help the government to provide salaries for the teachers. Had it not been for Morgan, all this could not have happened.
Currently the country's economy is on the right truck due to the formation of a transitional government and major cooperative donor countries such as the US, Australia, South Africa, China and Canada.

Tsvangirai, is a hero because in February he agreed to form a power-sharing government with political rival, President Robert Mugabe, to end a crippling political and economic crisis. This led to him to win two awards for the promotion of human rights in his country. He received the prestigious Human Rights Award from the International Bar Association awarded in Spain.
Tsvangirai was also given the International Lifetime Achievement Award 2009 from the Spanish Foundation Cristobal Gabarron, for his fight for peace and democracy in the Zimbambwe.
