Malala Yousafzai

"One child. One teacher. One book and one pen can change the world." (The Malala Fund 2105). Malala Yousafzai did change the world. Malala Yousafzai is just a normal girl who wants education. Unfortunately, Malala was never given the chance to have one because she was a women in Pakistan. So, at a young age she decided to make her voice heard and gain women education rights. (Malala's Family 2015). Malala is a hero because even though she is at a risk of attack with the Taliban she still continues to fight for educational rights.

Malala's father was a school teacher, so he was a huge supporter in Malala's education. One day when Malala was on a bus, a Taliban gunman singly sought out Malala and shot her several times. In critical condition she was rushed to the hospital and was said to not make it. Miraculously she survived and is continuing to fight even harder for rights even though she is under a threat. With these incidents happening in the past Malala continues to have a better view of how to be a better hero to all.

Malala Yousafzai is a hero to many because she has traits of perseverance and dedication. During her time, girls in Pakistan were taught how to maintain a house instead of getting an education. According to the text, "Much of the world's population is children and young people. In order for children to grow up with a bright future, all kids must get an education. Malala Yousafzai is fighting for girls' rights in Pakistan so that all kids can have a place in this world." (Biography Online 1). This evidence shows that one of Malala's character traits is dedication because she is devoted to gaining more educational rights for girls in Pakistan, who aren't allowed an education. In addition to Malala being a dedicated person, she also has a lot of perseverance. The text states, "On October 9, 2012, Malala was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman. She was severely wounded and went into a coma. She later got out of it and is now continuing to fight for girls' rights. She recently got awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on October 2014." (Dailyworth 1). This citation reveals that even though the Taliban severely wounded Malala, she still had perseverance and continued to fight for educational rights. She still is in grave danger but continues to help. In light of this information, Malala has wonderful qualities of dedication and perseverance. She continues to fight for women's rights at a young age, and is standing up tall even when she got shot down.

Due to Malala's actions she is making the world a better place. People from all around the world are realizing that women too need an education. Girls in low economic places are getting more attention in education. Because of Malala's work in education, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in October 2014. (Bio.com 2015). Thanks to Malala women who were not treated well can see hope in their future.

Malala is a hero because she risks her life every day just to get more equal educational rights. Malala is a hero because she has traits of perseverance and dedication. Perseverance because she is still fighting after getting severely injured, and dedication because she is continuing to gain rights. Malala Yousafzai is a compassionate and caring person. As she once said, "If you hit a Talib with your shoe, then there is no difference between you and the Talib.
