Mia Hamm dribbling down the field (http://ripleyms.jack.k12.wv.us/2011%20Students/Kristin%20M/Personal%20Web%20Page.htm#sports) |
From March 17, 1972 to today, Mia Hamm has dribbled, shot and scored her way to being my hero. Mia is a terrific soccer player, and has played the majority of her life. She always tries her best no matter what happens. In 1997 her older brother died from a very rare bone marrow disease. This really hurt her, because he was one of Mia’s heroes. She looked up to him and he was a very helpful person in her life. Even though the death of her brother did hurt Mia a lot she never stopped playing soccer, because she loves it so much.
When she was little she mainly played with the boys teams. This made her overall a better player, because it worked on her aggression and tactical ability. Mia Hamm has always been great at soccer. She never gives up, even when things aren’t going too well.
One of my goals in life is to play in the World Cup for the USA team. I know that by having Mia Hamm as my hero and role model, I will be able to fulfill that goal. I will always try as hard as Mia does, because I want to be a great soccer player just like her one day. That is why Mia Hamm (according to me, the best women’s soccer player ever) is my hero!
