Michael Jordan also had a nickname, Air Jordan. People say that Michael Jordan was the greatest basketball player of all time since he won the NBA a six times. Michael Jordan is really into a sport which requiresd speed, power, and more! Michael Jordan was the NBA superstar. When Michael Jordan was young he loved sports. Before he liked basketball his favorite sport was baseball. He would always play with his dad who also loved baseball. Later, he wanted to follow his footsteps of his older brother, Larry. Larry played basketball so when Michael Jordan wanted to follow his footsteps he also played basketball. In Laney High School he wanted to join the varsity team but was rejected because he was weak and below height. During the summer Michael Jordan grew 4 inches and practiced basketball. He would never get tired out. All of his hard work paid off and he averaged 25 points per game. After high school he earned a basketball scholarship to North Carolina. Jordan played under the legendary coach, Dean Smith. In 1993 something struck Michael Jordan's perfect life. On July 23, 1993 his father, James was murdered in North Carolina. 2 locals robbed him and shot him in the chest. 3 months later after the accident Michael Jordan retired from basketball. He no longer had the desire to play. In 1994, he took a new hobby or sports other then basketball. He played baseball, the sport he loved when he was younger. He signed up for the Chicago White Sox. In January 13, 1999 Jordan unretired and soon became a part of the Washington Wizards. He retired for good from 2002-2003.

In June 2006 he became part owner for the Charlotte Bobcats. Also later that year he divorced his wife of 17 years! They had 3 children together. In 1996 he was chosen as the top 50 best players in the whole world. I picked Michael Jordan as my hero because he really inspired me in so many different ways. Even though I'm way different than him I still do exactly what he did. I'm going to follow my brother's footsteps and see where I go in life.
