Three of Michael Jordan's signature moves. (www.google.com/images) |
A hero to me, is someone who accomplishes a difficult task or mans up and does what he has to do to get something done. Michael Jordan is not shy of this ideal. Michael Jordan has been defined as a hero many times throughout his basketball career. He has overcome many difficulties in his lifetime. Some of his heroic qualities are he is brave, he is a team player and he is a great leader.
An example of how Michael Jordan is brave can be taken from a 1998 championship game. In game six, Jordan crossed over a Jazz player and shot the ball at the foul line to win the championship for the last time in his career. This shows that he can step it up one more notch above everyone else and take the game to a higher level.
Another heroic quality of Michael Jordan would be that he is a team player and gets everyone involved in the game. A good example of this would be that throughout his career, he had over 5,000 assists. This means there were at least 10,000 points he gave to the personal records of other team players. Many times in games he was double-teamed when he was going to shoot the ball and he ended up passing the ball off to someone else for the points.
The last example of heroic qualities that I am going to use would be that he is a leader and led his team to six different championships. The years the team won the championships are 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997 and 1998. 1998 was the last championship the Bulls would have with Jordan. Before the games he would pump up his team to get them ready and excited for the game.
Michael Jordan has many heroic qualities. He overcame many situations in his career to lead his team to victory. He is brave by stepping up in difficult situations, and consistently gets everyone involved in the game. His leadership is extremely important to the team and he is definitely deserving of the term hero.
