Michael Jordan was a hero by being talented. Michael Jordan was a hero by being the most talented basketball player to ever live and by having so many championships. Only 9 other players in the NBA won more championships than Jordan.

Michael Jordan's childhood was interesting. He was born on February Seventeenth, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. Michael Jordan had two sisters and two brothers growing up. Michael's brothers' names were Ron and Larry, and his sisters' names were Delois and Roslyn. It wasn't a breeze growing up as a kid. Michael was picked on because of his short hair while others were growing their hair long. He also was picked on because of his ears. Michael loved playing baseball growing up and then he started to get along with classmates. Later on, Michael started to cut classes and pick on people which got him in to trouble. He also didn't listen to his mom and dad. Michael joined his high school basketball team, the Bucs, and became serious about basketball. As you can see, Michael Jordan had an interesting childhood.

Michael, in sports, was exciting to watch. While playing for the Laney Buccaneers, Michael was overwhelmed by all the records he broke. He broke all of the Bucs records from points and assists, to steals and blocks. After the astounding years with Michael on the Bucs, he was offered a scholarship from North Carolina. Michael played there from 1981-1984. In his first year there he made it to the finals with the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Tar Heels were facing Georgetown, there were 15 seconds left on the game clock and Michael made an astounding game-winning shot to win the championship. After his last year with the North Carolina Tar Heels he was invited to play in the Olympic Games for the U.S.A Basketball team. While there, he won a gold medal. Michael's high school years and college years were fun and exciting.

Michael's high school and college years were exciting but the he became a professional and did a lot more in basketball. Michael moved on to the professional game of basketball and was invited to play with the Chicago Bulls. Before Michael was on the team, the Bulls were overshadowed by the rest of the NBA teams. The first championship Michael won with the Bulls was when he got the game-winning shot to win. After the game, Michael got on the floor of the locker room and wept because he never thought he could win a championship for the Bulls. After the first championship, Michael won 5 more championships. Michael Jordan drew fans to games. He won the MVP 5 times. He won the most games (72), and got the most steals (236), plus the most blocks (125) all in one season. Michael Jordan got to play for the U.S.A basketball team in Barcelona, Spain and got a gold medal. As you can see, Michael was an amazing player while playing for the Chicago Bulls.

Michael Jordan had lots of obstacles in his life. One of them is that while playing for the Bulls he broke his foot and didn't play for a whole season. He had an addiction to gambling which led him to trouble. But worst of all, his dad was robbed in his own car and killed by a gunshot wound to the chest. Michael was in sorrow for many years.

Michael did a couple of things for the community. He made a charity named after his father, James Jordan, after he passed away. Michael also made a wide variety of sneakers for companies and for people. Millions of people really loved the sneakers Michael helped design. Michael Jordan was a community person who loved to help the community.

Michael had much recognition from the President of the NBA. First, he was awarded with a statue of himself leaping over a player and making an incredible dunk. Secondly, he got trophies for MVP awards, and many steals, blocks, and games won in a season. As you can see, Michael got much recognition from people.

Michael Jordan had two qualities that helped him accomplish many things. One of them was confidence. He used confidence by thinking he could win every game and that helped him win many games. Michael had determination. He used that by being determined to be the best and he developed into an outstanding basketball player. Michael Jordan took criticism to heart. If fans said he could only dunk, he would train and become a better shooter. If they said he is only an offensive player, he would build his game on being a defensive player. As you can see, Michael Jordan had two traits that enabled him to become a better player.

In conclusion, Michael Jordan was a hero in basketball and he inspired me by all the amazing plays he had while playing in the NBA. As you can see He was kind, grateful and loved to help the community in any way he could.
