Can you hear the noise? The stomping, the screaming, the sound that makes you feel your heart pumping, faster, and faster? You can feel the energy in the crowd, Mike Krzyzewski has walked out on the court.

Coach K. is the Duke Blue Devils basketball coach. He started out in the army. I always wanted to be in the military. Later on, he started to coach basketball, within only four years of coaching he took Duke to the Final Four in the NCAA tournament. The next three years he took them to three more back-to-back Final Four appearances. The second time they won the NCAA tournament.

Coach K. not only coaches basketball, he also built a center for kids to come in and play basketball. This program is used to get kids off the streets, or just let kids come in and get exercise. In the rough city of Durham this is a wonderful thing to have. Coach K. also helps the Duke medical hospital.

I have told you all of these things because he is my hero. I have always wanted to be in the military, and be able to coach basketball. He has made it to the Hall of Fame, where I have always wanted to be. He has helped the kids in the underpriveleged parts of the city of Durham. And he even got to coach the Olympic team.

Many people have looked up to coch K. I looked up to him when I was little and when my parents would fight, I wished I could be that strong. He has done and helped in the ways I wish I could and he will always be my hero.
