Michael Phelps. When I hear this name I think of eight olympic gold medals, four individual world records, three team world records and obviously one of the greatest swimmers in history. Even though he tried to smoke illegal drugs do not look at him as a bad person just think of it as he tried to calm himself down. The way I see this man is as a person to look up to because I love to swim too, which makes him MY goal to beat. I also think he is my hero because he has done many things and there any many, many reasons to look up to Michael Phelps.

Michael Phelps was born on June 30, 1985 and originally lived in Rodgers Forge, Maryland. He also swam at the nearby univerity NBAC. He was an excelent swimmer by the age of fifteen but what happened in the years before? He had two other sisters Hilary and Whitney who also gave a try at swimming. Whitney showed potential but quit early and Hilary was one of the best in the state but when she went for olympics she didn't get in and quit swimming. To Michael, his sisters mean a lot to him and somewhat inspired him. By age seven Micheal would not even touch the water but the instructors got him to float on his back so he learned the backstroke first. This is where it all started. After that his life kept on progressing forward. At age fifteen he competed in the olympics and kept on going ever since. The way he is a hero is because I am inspired by his ways of achieving his ways of swimming.

The way Michael Phelps changes the way I view life is how I swim. The way I swim butterfly and backstroke always reminds me of him. He was a child prodigy. The way I see him on T.V. (which is all the time) is so amazing to me that I almost wish I could be him. However, there are a number of things Michael has done to inspire me.

Michael Phelps has been a hit on the world. Why? He went to the olympics at the age of fifteen, carried a world record by the age of twenty one, and only started swimming competitively by age eleven. There's a lot more information about him and his swimming, but these are the main points about Michael Phelps.

Overall, Michael Phelps can be an inspiration to anyone who loves swimming. He can be a goal to reach for other child prodigies out there. I hope you really liked to read about my greatest hero, Michael Phelps.
