People have heroes because that person has accomplished goals in their life and this motivates them to work hard and never give up. I have a hero myself. His name is Mickey Ward. Mickey Ward is a professional boxer. He has driven himself to accomplish many goals in his career as a professional boxer. He is also extremely tough, ferocious, and skilled at boxing. He can withstand many punches in fights and not even be fazed. I look up to him and wonder if I will complete as many goals as he did in my life.
Mickey ward was born October 4th 1965 in Lowell Massachusetts. As a kid he would fight and wrestle with other kids. Then he was coached by former New England Olympic Champion John Peverada. He led Mickey to winning three straight New England Golden Gloves titles as an amateur before turning pro in 1985.
Mickey is my hero because I love to box and I go to a boxing gym. Mickey ward encouraged me to start boxing and set goals for myself. I set goals that he accomplished like winning the golden gloves. I do not expect to win three in a row like him but if I win one I’ll be happy.
My hero is currently living in Massachusetts. He is a father of one daughter. She is now three years old. He lives right near his brother Dickie who is also a professional fighter who faced hard hitting, fast and furious sugar Ray Leonard. As you can see, boxing must run in their blood.
Mickey made a huge difference in the life of other boxers by encouraging them to work hard and give it their all. He has also made a difference in many up and coming fighters that are young. I know he has made a difference in my life by showing me determination and to never give up. He also gave the boxing fans three spectacular fights showing his heart to everyone. Mickey is one of the greatest fighters in my book, and that will never change because of his heart, determination, and his will power. The boxing industry can use more fighters like Irish Mickey Ward.
