Makua Rothman is a hero because he inspires many young people today to follow their dreams. Makua followed his and he is the youngest surfer to charge 60-foot waves. Makua has made lots of money doing what he loves to do: surf. Makua has won the Billabong XXL award in surfing. Makua has shown that you can never be too young to follow your dreams and achive them.
Makua inspires me because I too am a surfer and I hope to be as good as he is one day. Surfing can be a job; you can make around $1000 per foot on a 60-foot wave. That's enough to pay for a car or half of a house, if you can ride a 60-foot wave. To have surfing as a job you could work whenever you want, and have fun training for your paycheck. That, and you don't have to worry about getting fired from the job.
Surfing may not mean that much to you, but surfing is a way of life for me. It's a passion that you can't get from anything else. I love to surf but I don't ever have time to. That's one reason why Makua inspires me and others. If I could do something with my life, whatever I wanted, I would be like Makua Rothman and spend my life following my dreams of becoming a pro surfer.
