Malcolm Little was born on the 19th of May in 1925. He was also known as Eli Hajj Malik el Shabazz and Malcolm X. He was an American Black Muslim Minster. As Malcolm grew up he was the smartest of his class in junior high. His dream of becoming a lawyer was hurt by his favorite teacher. He said "becoming a lawyer was no realistic goal" for him because of his race.
Robin DG Kelley, a famous black historian, wrote:
"Malcolm X was known as many things, a pan-African, father of Black Power, religious fanatic, closet conservative, incipient socialist and a menace to society."
His ideas help the Black community. Being locked up in jail changed his life and made him become a Muslim and follow his hero Muhammad.
Malcolm X was an inspiration to all people of the colored community. He was an encouragement to all colors the way he told his speeches. From city to city his speeches were so inspiring especially The Ballot or the Bullet speech from April 3rd 1964.
Malcolm helped with Civil Rights movement. If it wasn't for him and the other leaders we would still be in racism. There is a reason for their deaths. But discrimination would have still been there until someone like them would have stepped up - until someone died for the cause. Malcolm X was assassinated in Washington Heights on the first day of national brotherhood week. Witnesses identified the assassins as members of the Nation of Islam.
Malcolm X opened my eyes to all of the people in the United States who support and go against segregation. Malcolm went through hard struggles to make sure we have what we have right now. Almost nobody would have done this and that why he is my hero.
