Manon Rheaume

Manon Rheaume is a female hockey goalie. Manon Rheaume was born February 24,1972 in Lac Beauport, Quebec, Canada and she is 5'7" and she weighs 130lbs. Her current residence is Las Vegas, Nevada. Manon Rheaume learned how to skate when she was three and started playing hockey when she was five. She was playing hockey in Atom and Pee Wee and higher leagues. She went to the hockey training camp and that is when she met the Tampa Bay Lightning and her first game was against St. Louis Blues.

Manon Rheaume also started playing roller hockey and she played for the New Jersey Rock-n- rollers, Ottawa Loggers and the Sacramento Rats.

Manon started to play for the Women's National team but at the end she got cut off the team but she fought her way back into the Olympics. When she got back into the Olympics they only lost one game but Manon was not in goal. That's why they lost. They were playing against U.S.A. in gold but they lost again.

She got into the N.H.L. and she was the first woman to play in the Bantam AAA team. She was also the 1st girl to be a goaltender. Manon won the roller hockey tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is my hero because she is the first woman to play in the N.H.L. and she is also my hero because I always wanted to have a hero that was a girl that can play hockey.
