Donovan McNabb is the hero I chose. McNabb is the quaterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. McNabb is one of my role models, everytime I play football I try to play like him. Also when people doubt him, he always finds a way to prove them wrong. McNabb is in his 8th year as a pro. When McNabb was drafted his first year, fans booed him thinking he wasn't a good choice. Mcnabb proved them wrong.

Donovan McNabb was born on November 25, 1976. He grew up in Dolton, Illinois and played quarterback for Mount Carmel High School in Chicago. He helped Mount Carmel win the 1991 State Championship in his sophmore year. After high school, he then decided to attend Syracuse University. On the field he won the Big East Conference's offensive player of the decade (1990s) and of the year three times. Also, he was awarded the first-team all-conference vote earner each four years.

McNabb was drafted 2nd overall by the Eagles in 1999. He was famously booed by Philadelphia fans at the draft. The fans now regret booing him. McNabb started six of the Eagles' final seven games. In week 11 of the 2002 season, McNabb was injured. He was sacked by the Cardinals' Adrian Wilson and LeVar Woods. He fell to the ground, grasping his right ankle. In that same game, he threw for 4 touchdown passes. He later found out that his ankle was broken, and was forced to miss the last 6 games of the season.

2004, McNabb's breakout year. He finally totalled the kind of numbers that earned him the title as one of the top NFL quarterbacks. The Eagles won their first seven games of the season and clinched first place in their division with five weeks left in the regular season. They finished the season with a 13-3 record. In the playoffs, McNabb led the Eagles to the Super Bowl, with victories over the Minnesota Vikings (27-14) and the Atlanta Falcons (27-10). McNabb became the third African-American quarterback to start in a Super Bowl.

McNabb vs. Redskins

McNabb and Raquel Nurse, were married in June 2003. His daughter Alexis was born in September 23, 2004. His other loves are his two dogs, Sinbad and Diego. They own a house in Moorestown, New Jersey. One interesting fact about Donovan is that he throws the football with his right hand, but writes with his left. In conclusion McNabb is my favorite hero because I look up to him as a role model and I strive to accomplish the things he has.
