With the voice like George Straight and the performance moves of Clint Black, this Oklahoman has just begun to shine. Jason Meadows is the first person that I have seen that has been kind, courteous, and nice to anyone he meets. But that isn’t the reason I am writing this paper. Jason was a participant in the third season of the USA Network’s Nashville Star. If you don’t know what that was: there were four contestants left in the show, they all returned to their hometowns and gave their hometowns a concert. This concert was to raise money for the Red Cross and to donate all the profits to the Red Cross.
You'll notice he never wears his hat on straight either. The reason being is because when he was younger his grandfather said “Never trust a man who wears his hat straight!" His grandfather is Jason's main influence; he taught him to play the fiddle and harmonica.
The bonus was, no matter what his hometown made in selling concert tickets, the State Farm Insurace agency would give the Red Cross in his chapter $10,000 along with the money they made from the concert. Jason was the contestant, out of four, to raise the most money for the Red Cross. Not only does this money help the Red Cross, it also helps all the people that the Red Cross helps as well. Jason didn't only give the Red Cross a lot of money, he also put on a great show for his hometown fans. "My first BIG concert for some of my fans back in my home town and supporting the American Red Cross all at the same time--who could ask for more than that?" He shows that he cares about his fans and the donation to the Red Cross. Jason shows gentlemanship to everyone all around regardless of age, race, or sex.
Jason doesn't just put on a show for his fans; he believes that everyone there is contributing to a good cause. Nowadays we have kids listening to rap and doing drugs, because that is all that many sing about, doing drugs, and bad things. Country music kind of softens the way kids turn out to be. Without all the drugs and violence in the music, kids grow up to be very kind and courteous. Now when Jason donated all that money to the Red Cross he began to wonder if that had any affect on how his carrier would turn out. I don't know if he is someone who wants to proceed to become rich and famous, or if he wants to succeed to help others. I believe that he will succeed so he can help others, and not only himself. "I am finally getting to show the world what I do best and that is the greatest feeling I could have at this point in my career. I thank God for that every day."
It hasn’t always been easy for him, though. When he moved to Nashville to pursue his singing career, he didn’t find it as easy as he thought. He spent many years traveling around to Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas playing in bars and many other places. It wasn't until he moved to Tennesse that he began to record his own CD's. He sang in many bars, karaoke clubs, and dance halls; he didn’t just go straight to the top. Then one day a record producer heard him singing, and decided to work with him. That is how he got chosen to be on Nashville Star. Although he didn’t win, he is still going to produce records and CD’s and everything that one awesome country singer would do. I can see Jason Meadows becoming very famous, only it won't be quick, it will take some time, but Nashville Star has made him already somewhat famous.
Jason Meadows has really made a big impact on the way country music is today. He might even bring back some of the old-time songs that everyone used to listen to when they were growing up. He makes certain that his music has to do with past musicians and makes sure he follows the rules of the country music industry. I beileve that when he made that donation to the Red Cross he helped them out tremendously. All the money that he raised for the concert in Calera Oklahoma, plus the 10,000 dollars that State Farm is giving them, all went to the Red Cross for the Oklahoma District. Jason has really impressed many people while being on Nashville Star, and he has made himself look like a hero to many people.
