Mr. Hartnett

A hero… What are they? Is it the person that flies up in the sky and saves peoples lives? Or is a hero a person that guides you to take the right path and why you should take it. They can be a big role model that extremely impacts your life. A hero is someone that you can take after and admire the work that they have done in your heart.

My hero is a person in my life that taught me to let feelings go when I was done them and I did not need them anymore. He helped me through the very hard times and told me to keep hanging on. He is the kind of person that is willing to help all the time. He is a very strict teacher but at the same time he is a great hero!!! He was my 4th grade teacher, now is a Student Support Specialist. His name is Mr. Hartnett.

When something hurt in my life, he was there to help me. I remember telling him about my grandmother on the day she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We also found out she had 3 months to live. This was a very sad day in my life. He told me whenever I needed to talk he was there for me. He would sit with me while I would cry in class and tell me everything would be okay. Then he would stand up and give me a big hug. This was especially great because then I knew that I had someone there to talk to other than my mom. He was a great teacher. Even though she died 3 months later, I knew in my heart that she would always be here.

Thank you Mr. H. for all that you did. I don’t know that I could have done it without you. Always remember GO RED SOX!!!!!!!
