Mrs. Overby

A hero to me is someone who has excellent qualities and does superb actions, this is my hero. Have you ever had a hero? My hero is like no one in the world. We met when I first started school in 2001. She is Mrs. Overby and she taught me my first math problem and I thank her very much for that, because now I'm in AP classes (advanced placement classes) because without her inspiration I couldn't have done it. She is my biggest hero because she has done more in education for me than anyone else I know. If you went to her with a problem she would have had answer.

Mrs. Overby has put a humongous impact on my life. Not only in school but in my personal life she has shown me what is right and what is wrong. I couldn't do most of what I can do now without her as an influence. I learned that you have to work hard for what you want like she has. It took her 6 years to get the teaching degree she wanted, and she is still in college getting a higher degree. She has gone to West Texas A&M in Canyon, a very good college. She may not go to my college (University of Texas) but she is still #1 in my book. She has knowledge about math but also about WW2 and the bravery they have shown.

Mrs. Overby is a loving person and if you have been around her for more than a second then you would know it. She loves children but that's not the reason why she is a teacher. Why has she become a teacher? Well I have asked her and she was caught in it by faith. She was an English teacher at first but she didn't like it so went into math and now she has a principal degree. She has used her degree very wisely and has taught so many kids how to do more than they could ever imagine.

She has always known what to do if there was a problem. She taught me to be friends with the people who don't have friends. I know all of her tricks and they've helped me through math more than ever. I could not do what I can now without all of the help she has given. She has helped many kids through her 22 years and I am graced to be one of the many she's taught. My family has known her for many years and none of us will forget her.

Mrs. Overby still teaches math and inspires kids to be all they can be. I'm very thankful for her as she has taught me many things I will never forget. Mrs. Overby, if you read this I thank you very much for all you have done for me. I will never forget the things you've taught me, I miss you. Mrs. Overby, you are my hero.
