Nora Roberts |
Nora Roberts...when people hear that name some will ask, "who", others will know it instinctively, and a few will remember it from a book or two in their mother's closet. When I hear the name Nora Roberts, I think hero, novelist, and inspiring. Nora is my hero because she is a novelist, which is my goal in life, she is inspiring, and she is goal oriented. In February 1979, she began to write to keep from insanity. Now she writes as a career. She sent her stories in repeatedly. Over and over she was rejected until someone decided to give this rookie a shot.
Nora never gave up on her books. She says, "And each book has to receive your best effort every single time, no slacking." She stuck to it through the tough times. Nora was born on October 10, 1950, and grew up, the only daughter and the youngest of five children, in Silver Springs, Maryland. She was a legal secretary until she decided to stay home after the birth of her two sons.
"Actions, reactions, motivation, emotion, all have to come from the characters. Writing a love scene requires the same elements from the writer as any other." Nora is an amazing novelist. I have been an aspiring novelist for years. When asked in an interview about the heroes in her novels she answered, "Aren't most romance heroes, or heroes in fiction of any kind generally superior to real men?"

Nora Roberts has published many books. She has a few books through her pseudonym, J.D. Robb, such as Survivor in Death, Divided in Death, Origin in Death, and many others. A few novels written by Nora Roberts are Black Rose, Red Lily, Blue Smoke, Key of Valor, Jewels of the Sun, Tears of the Moon, and Heart of the Sea. This is a minute dent in the list of Nora's publications. Nora is my hero because for these and many more reasons. I hope that one day I can live up to her example.
