Naguib Mahfouz

Everyone of us has someone who affects his character a lot and inspires him extremely, and this is the Hero. I like reading a lot and writing poems since I believe that it's so important for improving my language. I like expressing my feelings in the form of poems because that makes me feel so relaxed. So, of course my hero is someone who's a great writer and wrote a lot of wonderful stories. He's Naguib Mahfouz who wrote a lot of incredible novels. I adore his work a lot since he used to express his feelings in a very nice way that attracts my attention so much

Now, let me talk to you about that great man. He was born in Cairo in 1911. He began writing when he was seventeen.

"From his famous writings: Bayn al Qasrayn, Qasr al Shawq, Sukkariya (Between-the-Palaces, Palace of Longing, Sugarhouse) The Thief and the Dogs (1961), Autumn Quail (1962), Small Talk on the Nile (1966), and Miramar (1967). Until 1972, Mahfouz was employed as a civil servant, first in the Ministry of Mortmain Endowments, then as Director of Censorship in the Bureau of Art, as Director of the Foundation for the Support of the Cinema, and, finally, as consultant on Cultural Affairs to the Ministry of Culture. He is now the author of no fewer than thirty novels, more than a hundred short stories, and more than two hundred articles. Half of his novels have been made into films which have circulated throughout the Arabic-speaking world. In Egypt, each new publication is regarded as a major cultural event."

No doubt that my Great Hero must have got a prize for his work and novels. He got the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1988. A lot of people appreciate his work so much since he's no doubt worth it and he made the Arabs so proud of themselves after he had won the Nobel Prize. By the way, he was the first Arab writer who won that Prize.

He died at the age of 94 and of course his death affected all the Arab world and definitely, his death is a loss for the entire world.

As a matter of fact, that man inspired me so much since I take him as a very good example and I wish I could be like him in the future. I wish I could be popular like him and make a lot of fabulous achievements. Whenever I start writing a poem, I just remember him and his great aims which he had achieved, so I just follow my desires and aims to try to make my dreams come true and be a Great person like him. I can't hide that I have a lot of other Poet Heroes like, Jane Austen, William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens. Each of them has his/her own way of writing and that helps me extremely in writing poems.

All in all, I wish that you'd like my hero story and enjoy it. And I'd like to repeat again that I wish I could be an important character in the future and be popular like all the other Great writers. I'm sure that I'll achieve this since I have a very strong will and "Where there's a will, there's a way."
