Nadiya Savchenko

I want to tell you about my hero. Her name is Nadiya Savchenko. She is a military pilot. In childhood Nadiya dreamed of becoming a pilot . In 2004-2005 as part of the Ukrainian peacekeeping contingent, took part in the mission in Iraq On April,6, 2014 ATO(Anti-Terroristic Operation)started in Ukraine. During the ATO in eastern Ukraine in 2014 Nadiya took part in anti-terrorist operations as a volunteer of the battalion "Aydar".

Nadiya participated in the battles near the village of Metalist in Luhansk, where she was captured on the 18th or 19th of June by rebels. Russians accuse Savchenko of killing Russian reporters, near Luhansk. But Nadiya didn't kill them. On December, 17 at a press conference in Moscow Savchenko's lawyers, presented documents from the Security Service of Ukraine. According to these documents, Nadiya had already been in captivity of LNR terroristic organization before the reporters were killed. Savchenko's lawyers insist that she has an alibi for the time of death of Russian journalists. Nadiya denies all charges against her. She faces 25 years imprisonment. Nadiya Savchenko has become a symbol of Ukrainian resistance to Russia.

For me, Hero is that person, who serves his country, by price of his life and freedom. Nadiya Savchenko is an example of a hero for me, because she serves Ukraine until the end and she is brave and strong-willed . She is a true hero for me.
