Nick Schuyler Introduction: I chose this book because i am interested in this type of book, action and adventure/survival, and when I red the back of the book i knew it would be very good autobiography. I chose this person because what he had experienced was incredibly hard and for him to write a book about. It is amazing, also it seemed very interesting. My autobiography is 246 pages long, written on February 28, 2009. 70 miles out from shore stranded on a flipped over boat, Nick Schuyler was the only one to come back from what was supposed to be a day fishing trip. He went with two professional football players Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith and William Bleakley. He is a personnel trainer and is very strong and fit.

Personal facts: This book was made in Tampa bay. Nick Schuyler's family was very kind. Nick loved his family. His mom Marcia Schuyler always cared about him and always put him in front of herself, if Nick was upset she was upset. His sister Kristen Schuyler was the same way, Nick and her loved spending time together and doing anything they could together. She would always be looking out for her little brother. Stu Schuyler loved his son. He would always get mad at Nick if he did something that could hurt him only because he loved him and he didn't want him to get hurt. His girlfriend, Paula Oliveira, was the love of his life. He loved her so much she was always worried if he was doing OK and was very nice. Nick Schuyler went on the fishing trip with three others, Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith who he met while playing football and Will Bleakley his best friend who he invited along on the disastrous fishing trip. Nick went to Chardon High in a town thirty minutes outside of Cleveland near Lake Erie. Then after that he decided to play basketball at Kent State in Kent, Ohio U.S.A. Nick was really interested in sports - football, basketball and working out. Nick's mom influenced him as he grew up. She was always their for him, She helped him learn, helped be polite and most of all helped him be a good person. When Nick was younger he always wanted to be in the NFL. He loved football. He would always imagine when he was watching a football game if he was as good or could potentially be as good as a person playing football. Nick wanted to play in the NFL so he trained and trained and trained but when it was time for his first game they told him he was not old enough.

Paragraph 3 Challenges and Accomplishments: Nick went on a fishing trip one day with his friends, Corey, Marquis and Will. they were planning on relaxing and catching some fish. When it was time to go they tried to move the boat but the anchor was stuck at the bottom of the sea. Marquis did not want to buy an anchor since it was his boat so they tried to floor it and get it unstuck but the boat flipped, and that's when it all started... They tried to flip it back over but it wouldn't budge they did everything they could. One of them went down under the boat to get the life jackets and got them. After a while Marquis Cooper, a player in the NFL, went crazy and started hallucinating and finally died. Not even an hour later Corey Smith, another NFL player, went crazy and started attacking the two men who were still alive. The other men tried to contain him but he finally got away took off his life jacket and went under the water, but he never came back up. A day later the last one, Will Bleakley the one who got the life jackets and saved everyone else, started to get sick. Then he died and Nick was all alone... After a long wait the Coast Guard finally came and saved him. That will change his life forever. Nick always stayed positive and tried hard during this traumatic experience. Will Bleakley saved his life. He is a hero. The event influenced Nick to stay positive and always be grateful that he was the one to live. His faults were that he was too scared to go under the boat and only went under the boat when his friends were dead. His other fault was agreeing to floor the boat when the anchor was stuck. Everything about this book was sad: how they flipped, his friends dying and him almost dying. Nick Shuyler did not get any awards or accomplishments but his family was proud of him for getting through it. The three qualities that my book has is: Never ever giving up. Nick and Will never gave up. Helping others. Nick but mostly Will were helping everyone else. Using your brain and not freaking out, Nick and Will never freaked out - they were always calm and using their ideas to work together.

Paragraph 4: Conclusions and Reflections On the boat when it flipped. he was helpful and helped the ones suffering. Also he was scared to help in some things, such as going under the boat to get the life jackets or food. Most of his actions were thoughtful. If I were to meet Nick Schuyler i would ask him; If he was able to see Will Bleakley one last time what would you say? If there was one other thing you could do differently after your boat flipped what would you do? If you could not have invited Will Bleakley on the trip would you? I would not want to be this person's son because what he went through was very hard and he would always be upset and down on himself and it would be a negative environment. I really liked this book because it is a good way to learn how important it is to work together. I learned that team work is very important, thinking positive Is important. Also being kind is very important. Think things through, stay calm, be prepared and follow your better judgement. Because it is very sad and no one likes when people die and it is very descriptive on the violence of the whole situation. I am happy that I chose this book because it is very exciting and I like books like this. I would not consider Nick to be a Hero or a role model because he did not go under the boat to get any food for the others and he did not save any of them. Perhaps if he brought one of his friends back maybe he would be a hero but he did not. Will Bleakley is a Hero to me because he saved Nick's life.
