On December fourth, 1982, a baby boy was born in Melbourne, Australia. Panicked Doctors and Nurses swarmed over this brand new human being. Unlike most children, he was born with no arms and no legs. In his limbless body beat a strong and passionate heart, the very thing that would be a source of drive for him throughout his life. On December fourth 1982, in Melbourne, Australia, Nick Vujicic was born.

When the word “handicapped” is said, most people think of wheelchairs and the inability to be like the rest of the world. Well Nick is out to prove them wrong. To him, the word “handicapped” does not exist. In fact, he swims and he loves to surf. He will not let his disabilities get in the way of anything. He is natural leader and he speaks to people all around the world. His words of perseverance have touched the hearts of many people around the globe.

Today Nick is 27 years old, and he has more self confidence and self drive than ever. However, in his younger years this was not quite the case. All through grade school Nick was constantly being made fun of and teased by the other kids. He learned to get over it, but these repulsive comments always hurt him. By the time he got out out of school, he was feeling depressed and worthless as a person. He had to begun to question his existence. Then one day something miraculous happened. He found what he had always been missing in his life; God.

Nick has a very powerful relationship with God. He strongly feels that God put him here for a reason, and that he has a plan for his life. Nick knows that God will always be there to guide him, no matter what he is going through. "I believe in a God who can do all things, but if He chooses not to give me arms and legs, I know it's for the better. And I may not understand it, but all I need to know is that He's going to carry me through, that there is a purpose for it." I look up to Nick because he has proved to me that the physical you does not amount to anything. Instead, it is what inside your heart that really matters. With that information, it makes me feel like I could do anything.

Every person on this earth is unique and is different from everyone else. Everyone has different beliefs, hopes, and dreams. If you just believe in yourself, you will go far in pursuing your dreams. Nick Vujicic has demonstrated this in the way he lives his life. I think everyone could get something out of his life story. If there is something that Nick cannot conquer, then nobody can.
