Nick Vujicic

      "If just one more person finds eternal life in Jesus Christ....it is all worth it" These words were spoken by Nicholas (Nick) Vujicic, a man who motivated people of all ages into persevering (Lifeforlimbs.org). In 19832 in Brisbane, Australia, a hero was born. But with the birth of this hero came a dilemma that neither the parents nor the nurses expected. Nick Vujicic had been born without limbs.  Dushka Vujicic, and her husband Pastor Boris Vujicic had great doubt in their mind that their one and only son could ever live a normal life. They never expected him to motivate and inspire thousands of people, and yet, he did. Vujicic possesses a sense of perseverance and optimism that is not commonly seen. He went to Jesus Christ and put his faith in Him which made him the omniscient man he is today. Vujicic not only uses his newfound faith in God to strengthen his self confidence and hopefulness, but he spreads his confidence and hope around the world, thus giving him the title of a hero

Although he faced a challenging childhood without arms or legs, Nick Vujicic now uses his disability for the ability to encourage others to never give up. Vujicic experienced most of his childhood insecure, lonely, challenged and depressed. During first few years of starting school, he realized that he truly wasn't normal. Since his classmates constantly mocked him, he rarely had a chance to obtain close friends. He also rarely had a chance to participate in activities that included arms and legs. Living without limbs is imaginably difficult. Most people think life is hard enough, but imagine life without arms and legs. By the young age of eight, Vujicic began to question whether life for him was a life worth living. He thought "If God loved me, why did he make me like this?" Fortunately, Vujicic came to a realization that life is only sad if you make it sad. His parents started teaching him about God. The more he learned, the more hope he gained, and eventually Vujicic decided to put all his trust in God.  One day, his mom showed him an article on a man who had a similar disability yet he has accomplished so much and helped many people. Nick then felt inspiration to help others and that truly shows the power of the Holy Spirit and how quickly one can achieve trust within God. Nick gained spirit and hope that even people with limbs don't commonly achieve. Many people are inspired by how much confidence he has by putting his faith in God. It may be true that Nick Vujicic didn't have limbs but that didn't stop him from looking for, and finding, his true meaning in life.

Nick Vujicic believes that his meaning in life is to not only serve his church but to serve the people in the world by not only spreading confidence, but also the word of God. Vujicic eventually founded a program for other people with disabilities called "Life Without Limbs". He began going to many different groups and schools to share his story. He gives motivational talks to people of all ages about how he put his trust in God, and that now he feels he can accomplish anything. In a video of one of his his talks he said "If I fall, am I going to be able to get up if I don't try to get up? No." The video it showed him swimming, playing golf, typing on a computer and playing drums. Listening to his meaningful words and life story, and all I was thinking was "I never thought I'd be jealous of a man without limbs. Nick Vujicic took coal and turned it into diamonds. His story has not only touched the hearts of thousands of people but it has also led those people to trust and love God. His life for limbs organization and his talks have traveled the world. He ensured that all people should be able to gain confidence within themselves. "Vujicic was born without arms and legs but with the gifts of determination, good humor, and optimism" (Vujicic, Nick. Life Without Limits. Library Journal). God works through Vujicic to spread positivity to people of all ages which is why he Nick Vujicic is my hero.
