The Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." This verse is one of many insisting that everyone is born with a purpose no matter how much it doesn't make sense, as one evangelist learns. Nick Vujicic was born in Melbourne, Australia, on December 4, 1982. He had Tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare condition that took all four of his limbs. "...nurse Dushka Vujicic and her pastor husband Boris Vujicic were surprised to deliver a baby with no limbs. They worried where he could have a normal life" (Gale). He questioned why he was born in the cruel world as he was bullied left and right at school. But when he was still a younger teenager, he found ways to live with his disability and accept it. Vujicic was then inspired to be an inspirational speaker and started to talk to groups in his own school. Vujicic stepped up from school and started to travel all over the world to give motivational speeches and wrote books about how he broke through his disability. Vujicic's work continues to inspire people worldwide with the message that everyone is special for a reason. Vujicic is a role model of embracing any disabilities or flaws and figuring out how to confront the problems they cause. He also shows confidence in getting to live a life like any normal person and his disabilities helped him to spread his inspirational story to the story. Nick Vujicic lives a life of monumental perseverance and proves to be a hero of faith by adapting to living without all four limbs, earning relationships he had only dreamed of, and conquering emotional challenges by trusting God.
Nick Vujicic took advantage of his disability to adapt to his lifestyle and be like any normal person. His condition, Tetra-amelia syndrome, has left him as described, "... in his case, a foot with two toes that enable him to type, and answer hundreds of texts every day. He can surf, play drums, comb his hair, brush his teeth, shave, answer the phone and a lot more..." (PBS). Even though Vujicic is significantly disabled, he still would have to figure out how to do most things by himself and he was persistent with even attempting to do his hobbies. He succeeded with adapting to his lifestyle, and became capable to do things some people think are impossible for him to accomplish. In an interview with PBS, he joked, "I'm the world Guinness Book of Records holder of 1,749 hugs in one hour. My arms fell off" (PBS). Instead of saying that his disability had slowed him down or was a terrible thing that happened to him, Vujicic made it like it wasn't that much of deal because he uses his condition often as a joke. If he's this positive, then it shows that now his disability doesn't get in his way anymore. Being the persistent and positive person he is, Nick Vujicic managed to adapt through his condition and make his disadvantage into an advantage.

Vujicic is also known for the story of how he got what he believed he will never get; a relationship with someone he can have a family of his own. When asked how Vujicic and his wife Kanae be intimate with each other, Vujicic replies, "'We are very affectionate people...' And Kanae smiled, 'He's got everything he needs.'" (John). Vujicic is also adapting to how he shows affection to his wife and Kanae doesn't let his disability stop their love for each other. This is an example of true love because it shows that individuality matters in a relationship, not by the differences one partner has from everyone else. During one of his speeches, he said, "God gave me a wife to enjoy the blessing of being married, and being a husband and being a father" (PBS).Vujicic is an important figure in the Christian faith because his story shows how by trusting in God, everything is possible. Everyone is given a plan for what will happen in their lives by God and Vujicic shows that everyone's needs are taken care of. The hope that Vujicic spreads is that despite how hopeless situations might be, anything is possible by trusting that your needs will be met, and love is something that breaks through differences between two partners. Vujicic inspires millions with the story of how he overcame depression, loneliness, and his own disability to become the evangelist he is today. When describing his suicidal attempt at ten years old in his bathtub in an interview Vujicic said, "... I saw a picture in my mind of my mum, my dad and my brother crying at my grave wishing they could have done something more" (PBS). Vujicic knew that if he killed himself, his family will have to live through the pain of having a deceased son who was seriously handicapped and miserable. Since he couldn't bring himself to cause that, Vujicic decided to not give up on living the way he is and never give up to keep walking through life. When talking about the story of when Jesus healed a blind man in the bible, Vujicic mentions that, "... Jesus said he was born that way so that the works of God would be revealed through him and faith came over me, tangibly I felt peace" (PBS). This part of the bible makes Vujicic realise that he isn't alone in feeling like the only one disabled for no reason and it inspires him to accept his disability. His message to people around the world is what he learned from this part of his teenage years and brings hope to others as it did to him.

The message that Nick Vujicic gives all over the world is that there is hope planned for everyone, no matter how terrible it may seem, and this is also what may have saved Vujicic's life. He throws out the plan of attempting suicide so he doesn't inflict greater pain on his family, so Vujicic has no choice but to continue to walk through life. His faith was immensely tested and doubts God's existence. But the hope from being acknowledged as someone special inspired Vujicic and spread this message around the world. He became persistent to live with the conditions of having no limbs and eventually was free to enjoy his favorite hobbies with normal people. The hope turned his life around and made him a happy, glowing man and spreads his joy to others around him. Vujicic then found a new joy in finding a relationship with Kanae and ended up marrying and build a family with her, making him a role model of true love. Vujicic lives an upbeat life because of how free he is from the darkness that he once had and keeps up a humorous side of him. People are told to help out others who are disabled by taking care of them and provide with technology, but Vujicic is special because he is living an almost normal life. He doesn't need the help of mechanical limbs or much care from caretakers because he had enough parts of him to do what he can. Christians around the world see him as someone who is a hardcore example of faith and persistence in God and serving his purpose. But anyone can be encouraged by his good character and keeping up a successful life. Because of his positive and bright, yet strong and determined character, Nick Vujicic proves to be a true hero figure for Christians and non-Christians alike.Works Cited
