My Hero, Oralia Di Nicola
My mom, Oralia Di Nicola, and Abraham Lincoln have a lot of the same heroic qualities. Abraham was very honest. He got his nickname, Honest Abe, by being very honest. He walked six miles to give a lady six cents she paid extra for when he worked in a store. She didn’t even know she paid extra for it. My mom is very honest, too. She always tells my brother and I the truth. Abe was a very hard worker. When he was young, he worked for his dad. My mom only missed one day of work for a whole year and a half. Lincoln was extremely kind. He had many friends because of it. He had lots of pets and was very fond of animals and children. My mom is kind to animals and children and adults she knows and doesn’t know. Abe was respectful, too. He respected his friends and his family. Oralia, my mom, respects everyone she meets. Lincoln read while he worked and was very smart. My mom reads whenever she gets a chance. She studied very hard to get a good job. She is very smart. Lincoln was very helpful when he was president. He helped free the slaves and was patient when the Civil War was going on. My mom gives my brother and I second chances and helps us with our homework. They are very great people and are both my heroes.
