Oprah Winfrey

Oparah Winfrey is the richest self made woman in America. She also has her own TV Network which makes her a big star. But it’s not her fame and fortune why we picked her as her hero, it's what she does with it that makes her stand out, and it’s why we chose her as our hero! She has established many charities to help, like Angel Network. She donates a lot of money to other charities and she helps people selflessly.

Angel Network-
Oprah Winfrey is the establisher of Angel Network. The charity first gave away $100,000 to people who are everyday heroes and help make the world a better place. This organization was established to support inspiration, education, and health of women, children, and families from all over.

Supported Charities-
Oprah has given away loads of money, more than $50 million, to help the people less fortunate than her. Many of the charities she supported were charities close to heart. Like AIDS foundation of Chicago, Children’s Memorial Hospital, and Chicago Academy of the Arts. She has helped many devastated families after Hurricane Katrina, she has built schools and homes in Africa, and is a spokesperson for neglected and abused children.

Oprah-
She has used her power and wealth selflessly and honourably. She thinks less for herself and gives to make sure everyone is educated, loved, and healthy. She is on TV shows and written books to spread the word of all the unfortunate people today. She began her show in January 1954 and has helped lots over the years until her last show that premiered May 25 2011, but she will continue to make this world a better place.

We think a hero is:
A hero in our eyes is a person who thinks more for the others then themselves. A brave courageous person who is selfless and is doing good deeds for the health of others, without looking for rewards. It is someone who does things for the good of others and doesn’t except anything in return. They are unselfish with the way they help people and they are able to make the decision between right and wrong with no condition.

That is the reason why we chose Oprah as our hero, she is someone who has many heroic qualities and has a generous personality. Oprah creates the opportunity for others to succeed and to get past the hard parts in life. Thank you! :)
