Oprah Winfrey is one of the most powerful, richest businesswoman in the country. She has improved the lives of others greatly, and has motivated people all over the world to believe in themselves. Oprah Winfrey gives confidence to her supporters to fight through whatever obstacles appear in the way, and has won numerous awards for her roles and for her different achievements throughout the years. Winfrey always inspires her viewers by sharing her own childhood stories, which then teaches her viewers a lesson that she has also acquired through life. Oprah wants everyone to be the best version of themselves and that is how she is able to motivate people to try something new and be fearless. Oprah Winfrey is more than just an American television host; she is an inspirational woman who has formed many charities and organizations, improved the lives of others through her show, and has won multiple awards for her heroic accomplishments.

In the 1980's, Winfrey was the first black woman to host a talk show. Her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, has received multiple awards for its superiority. On her show, Oprah talks with her audience and has real conversations with them from listening to other stories, which influences her viewers to stay motivated and brave. In 1986, Oprah was named Woman of Achievement by the National Organization of Women. She also won other awards for her contributions to communities ("Oprah Gail Winfrey"). Winfrey is against child abuse as she went through the same during her childhood. She has formed many charities for girls and women in South Africa, and has also opened a school there so girls can get the education they need and deserve. Because of these achievements, Winfrey has received other awards as well as "many honours and from civic, philanthropic, and entertainment organizations" ("Winfrey, Oprah"). Oprah also has her own magazine that establishes a true purpose for women and why they deserve to be valued. Her magazine, O, talks about certain subjects such as family, health, work, and relationships that inspire women to take pride in who they already are and how they can improve to have an even better understanding of life ("Oprah Gail Winfrey"). Oprah Winfrey has encouraged and strengthened people's perspective on how they used to look at life and how they now view it. She is an inspiration who lets her supporters follow her path in becoming a honest and considerate person.

One way Oprah Winfrey has portrayed her heroic and humane personality is by forming organizations and charities for women and kids to help support them. By forming a charity, Oprah Winfrey is helping other people so that girls get the education that they need. She also portrays her kind personality to support women as well. Oprah is showing her generosity through these charities in order to help others in need. Over the years, Winfrey has inspired people around the world to accomplish goals for others, and "...in 1991 the tragic story of a four-year-old Chicago girl's molestation and murder prompted Winfrey, as a former abuse victim, "to take a stand for the children of this country," she explained in People" ("Oprah Gail Winfrey"). From hearing the story regarding this young girl, Oprah showed her generosity by relating to the abuse in her own life, and is taking a stand for children. She is demonstrating that since she went through the same type of abuse when younger, she is able to relate to the young girl and wants to take action. She is showing her generous attitude by helping others fight through. Oprah Winfrey has made a positive difference in the lives of others by creating these charities and is a deserving hero by helping others build more confidence.

Being the brave woman she is, Oprah has showed others how to be fearless when times get tough. Oprah Winfrey in this way is fearless because she inspires her viewers to encourage themselves as well as others to lead a better and stronger life. She leads people to improve other lives so that her viewers know that if they were able to do something pleasing for others, that they can also have their own powerful life. Oprah is inspiring others to guide themselves in the right direction and focus on what is important. In an interview with Brene Brown, Oprah explains that, "You cannot live a brave life without disappointing some people but those people who get disappointed, it's really okay because the people who really care for you, the people who are rooting for your rise will not be disappointed. That's how I make myself brave, the people who are rooting for your rise, they're gonna be okay when you say no" ("Living Brave"). Winfrey is showing that you cannot have fear all the time if you want to achieve goals. She demonstrates her fearlessness by trusting and looking up to the people who care for her success and progress. This is an inspiration because Winfrey is portraying how she is able to live a brave life, and is leading others to also be confident and bold in whatever they want to achieve. Oprah Winfrey's magazines have encouraged her fans and viewers to lead a better lifestyle, and also inspires women to know their worth and value since Oprah discovered her value throughout her journey. Winfrey is a motivation to all because not only does she help others, but she is on the journey with her supporters. I value Oprah Winfrey for her strength and determination and she is a true inspiration to me. Oprah once said in an interview, "It was during my show that I absolutely learned for sure for myself through other people's stories that there really isn't any such thing as failure. I could also see that failure was just there to inform you to move in a different direction, and once I figured that out, it became easier to be braver" ("Living Brave"). Oprah explains that failure is just a way to shift people in a better place, in order to become more aware. She prompts her viewers to look at failure in a different context, and to think of it as a good thing rather than bad. As Oprah continues to influence people today, it is not her wealth that motivates people, but her power and strength to help others become their own independent individual.
