A Hero: A person admired for fine qualities. Synonyms: Oprah Winfrey. Why you may ask? Well, because like any ordinary hero, Oprah had many hardships when she was growing, but when she was older she committed many good deeds, and after all, she prevailed. Still don't believe me? Well, I bet I can certainly change your mind.
When Ms. Winfrey was growing up, she certainly had to overcome many obstacles when she was growing up. When Oprah was growing she lived with her grandma on a farm in the pleasant country. Later, she lived with her unfortune mother. Soon, she ran away to a juvenile detention, but she only had more bad luck heading her way. She was turned down from the juvenile detention and was sent to live with her strict and mean father.
Later when Oprah grew up, she committed many good deeds, a large percentage of those deeds helped children. Also, Ms. Winfrey started her own charity with the Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela. Plus, if there's a prize for the most money donated to charity then Oprah wins by a long shot because Ms. Winfrey donated 50 million dollars to a charity and she also donated 1 million dollars to an elementary school in Chicago, Illinois. And Oprah has donated some of her time to go to Africa to help children. Did you know that her goal before (and while) she was (is) famous is to stop child abuse?
After all, Oprah has prevailed to become a generous billionaire. When Ms. Winfrey was starting her career she was an anchor of a new show in Nashville, Tennessee. Later, she started her own book club which became very popular over time. Soon, Oprah got her television show, The Oprah Winfrey Show and started to earn 1 billion dollars a year.
Next time you see the word, "Hero", you should think of the person, Oprah Winfrey. Well, not only has she experienced hardship while she was growing up, committed many good deeds, she become successful but she never kept all her money to herself - she instead shared her money. Oprah Winfrey, a hero.
