Odysseus

by Jamie from Corpus Christi

Odysseus was the King of Ithaca. He was a skilled warrior, clever, and cunning. There was nothing more he loved than Ithaca and his family. He worshiped the God's and Goddess's on Olympus. In return the God's and Goddess's helped him face many trials. His favorite of the God's and Goddess's was Athena the Goddess of Wisdom and Battle Strategies.Together they faced many battles and won great victories but one day Odysseus made a terrible mistake. One which had cost him misery, grief, despair, and even his beloved home and family.

Odysseus and his army fought the Trojans for many days. With the help of Athena, Odysseus made a plan to make a giant wooden horse and fill soldiers inside. They then offered the statue as a peace present and gave it to the Trojans. when the Trojans rolled the statue through the gate the soldiers snuck out at night and attacked. Odysseus won this battle and was rewarded with many treasures but he forgot to thank the Gods for their wisdom and protection. The Gods were outraged so they took their revenge on Odysseus on his trip back to Ithaca. He out smarted a cyclops. Befriended the Goddess Circe who turned humans into animals. Survived the sirens songs. And encountered horrible monsters.
