Oprah Winfrey is happy!

Oprah Winfrey once said “Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.” This really relates to Winfrey because she was in a great deal of poverty, almost to the state of living on the streets. She was still grateful with all the little she had; she was not concerned with what she did not have but was proud of what she did have. Since she was not concentrated on the bad she was grateful and got more in what she wanted in her dreams. Now she is the most successful woman in the world. She did not care that she didn’t have much; for that she got more in return.

Oprah Winfrey is a great inspirer and is an amazing person. Winfrey was born on January 29, 1945 in Kosciusko Mississippi. Her middle name is Gail, Oprah Gail Winfrey. Originally this great woman’s name was supposed to be Orpah after the Bible’s Book of Ruth. The midwife accidentally spelled Winfrey’s name wrong so she became Oprah. Throughout Winfrey’s life she moved homes. First she was with her grandmother, and then she moved with her mother to Milwaukee. After many years she was sent to her father’s house in Nashville Tennessee. There this incredibly smart woman had to add five words to her vocabulary everyday before she could eat dinner. With Mr. Winfrey’s persistence with Oprah’s education she became a top student. Oprah was such a great student that she graduated with Honors. Winfrey is a great role model for young people because she has gone through so much and she became the most successful woman in the world.

Oprah Winfrey has had an interesting career through her life. Winfrey is a talk show host to one of the biggest shows on television, The Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah is the producer to her show; that is just one of the many jobs she does for the world. Also she is an actress. She performed in the play The Color Purple in 1985. Because of Oprah’s talk show, she is the highest paid woman in the country. Oprah is also the richest woman in the world.

To many young girls in Africa, Oprah Winfrey is their hero. Oprah opened a $40 million school in South Africa for young girls. There were thousands of girls who wanted to be in the school but Oprah took in 152 girls. Oprah is very involved with the girls’ teachings and she said “I believed the future was unimaginably bright for all of the girls.” Oprah is so incredibly kind, and is a generous person. She really cares about the girls in her school and wants them to have a bright future. She said her school is going to be a school of leaders, not just poor girls, but girls who will make something of themselves when they get older. Oprah has vowed to care for the new students at her school as if they were her own daughters.

Oprah is such a great person and cares so much about people. She knows about life and wants to invest in others. This incredible woman inspires me so much to want to be successful in life. Oprah came from nothing and turned her life around to becoming the most successful woman in the world.
