His Majesty, Oyoo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV

My hero is His Majesty Oyoo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukindi IV. He is the youngest king in world. He became the king after succeeding the throne, followed by the sudden death of his father, King Patrick Olimi Kaboyo, who died of hypertension in August 1994.

A week after the death of his father, Oyoo was brought to the royal palace where the rituals were set to start. During his coronation ceremony, many Ugandan government officials, including His excellence the president of Uganda Mr. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, ambassadors and traditional officials were present to witness the young king getting his hire and full titles.

Oyoo was crowned by the Anglican Bishop Eustance Kamanyire at St. John's Cathedral as the 12th king of Toro kingdom. Oyoo became the king of Toro 12 of September 1994 and became the youngest king the world. He replaced the record of King Muswati of Swaziland who became the king at the age of 18 years in 1986 after succeeding the throne of his father, the late King Sobhuza II. Oyoo was entered in the Guinness book as the youngest king in the world.

Oyoo became the king of Toro at the age of 3 and half years. He broke a record set back in the 19 century by Daudi Chwa who became the king of Buganda at the age of four years when he was succeeding the throne of his father Mutesa I who taken to exile by British in Seychelles Islands in the Indian Ocean.

Toro kingdom belongs to the Chwezi dynasty. The Chwezi are mystic people who lived in the 14 century. Some of Uganda's history shows that their rule extended into the present northern Tanzania. Toro kingdom was founded by Prince Olimi I in 1830, a prince of the legendary Bunyoro Kitara Empire.

Today Uganda has 5 recognized kingdoms. They are the kingdoms of Toro, Buganda, Bunyoro, Ankole and Busoga.
