"Everyone needs to be valued. Everyone has the potential to give something back if only they had the chance" (Diana Princess Diana Short Biography). Diana started off her life as most people would, by going to school and spending time with family. When Diana was 16 she began working with kids. "Years later her overall effect on charity became more significant than any other person in the 20th century" (Stephan lee, director of Britain's Institute of Charity Fundraising Managers). "Lady Diana Frances Spencer, youngest daughter of Edward Spencer, was born on July 1st, 1961 in Newfolk, England" (Diana, Princess of Wales (1961-1997). "She went to a preparatory school in Newfolk and a boarding school in Kent, before her parents divorced in 1969, and the custody over the children remained with the father" (Diana, Princess of Wales). She then finished school in Switzerland and moved to London where she worked at a kindergarten by the age of 16. “Charles proposed to her at a dinner in his Buckingham Palace apartment in 1981” (Diana, Princess of Wales (1961-1997); No doubt occurred in the early stages of the relationship because the love between the two continued to be strong. Soon after their wedding Diana became pregnant with their first child, Prince William and then, two years later their second son, Harry, was born. It had been said Diana wanted to give her kids a normal life as possible and away from the publicity. In 1992 Andrew Morton, biographer, published a book, Her True Story. Slowly things began falling apart between the royal couple and a divorce became final in 1996. She lost her title of Her Royal Highness but kept the name Princess of Wales. In 1997 Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris while trying to escape from paparazzi. The tragic death of Lady Diana took everyone's breath away. Diana became even better known after her death and two million of her books were sold in that year. When Diana married Prince Charles she never changed herself to please someone else and stayed selfless. She wanted to make a difference and did so by helping others. Princess Diana was hard working and well loved family woman who is still loved over the world and with this her multiple accomplishments towards helping tons of charities makes her a hero.

Diana is considered a hero because she adores spending her time around kids. Diana always had a love for children and a will to take her time out of the day to be with her two beloved kids. "She devoted herself to her sons." (Princess Diana Biography). Diana's children meant everything to her, which is why she wanted them to grow up together and live a normal life away from all the crazy fame and paparazzi. By making sure her kids had as much of a normal life as possible she shows the importance of her children to her. Not only did Diana love her children but even before she became a mom she worked with kids. "Nurturing her love for children, Diana moved to London and found work as a nanny and, then as a kindergarten teacher" (Diana, Princess of Wales Informational Paper). She revolved her life around jobs that included helping and being around children. From early ages in Diana's life she seemed to find ways to spend her time supporting kids by nurturing care for children. This process began as a teenager and followed through till the day of her death. Her commitment was overwhelming with passion.

Not only was Diana a fan of kids but she showed multiple charitable acts. For example, "Diana served as strong as supporter of many charities and worked to help the homeless, people living with HIV's and AIDs, and children in need" (Princess Diana Biography). Diana never let fame and fortune overcome her personality; But instead she used her fame to help other people. This shows she cared to help and thought of other people before herself. Another example of Diana's char ability would be, "She won the hearts of the people immediately with her innocent "English Rose" appearance and her ability to give to others (Diana, Princess of Wales Informational Paper). Diana gave her time and herself to the charities that she loved and cared for by using her fame. Diana made it possible for other people to be aware of the disabilities and tragedies happening around all of us. In other words, Diana was most certainly not considered a selfish person. What she cared for doing was helping to make at least one better change for the charities.

A stand out that Diana showed that describes her as a hero, is how she showed dignity. Diana was loved by the people of her country no matter what events took place. "Unfortunately, the fairy tale wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles did not lead to a happily-ever-after marriage. The two became estranged over the years... Even after the divorce, Diana maintained a high level of popularity" (Princess Diana Biography). Getting a divorce was frowned upon, especially when it was done by royals, but the people saw past the flaw of the separation and realized Diana's amazing personality. Making the best of the break up showed that Diana took the high road. She never stopped being Diana. "Diana suffered from an eating disorder and depression. Instead of giving into the depression, Diana turned toward philanthropy to make her life more meaningful" (Diana, Princess of Wales Informational Paper). She wanted to do more to help and by doing so she took matters into her own hands to do anything she could. Even though the break up of the royal couple, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, remained to be a tremendous load for Diana to handle she found something that caught her eye and on her own she held her head high. Diana instead turned a huge negative situation into a very large positive one just by spending her time with others and by gaining an interest in philanthropy.

Princess Diana showed more traits than being hardworking and charitable because she also showed acts of being humble and respectful to everyone less fortunate. Even though Princess Diana's life was ended in a car crash her legacy still lives on with the help of her sons and the memories people have of her giving back. Princess Diana is an icon that put others before herself and never thought as anyone less. She saw everyone as equal and tried helping those that needed it. After the separation form her husband, Diana of course was saddened by losing her best friend but she didn't let that one stepping stone stand in her way to slow her down from any accomplishments she wished to complete. She stayed true to herself by not changing who everyone wanted her to be and that shows all the character in the world. “Diana was the patron of 44 charities making more than 180 visits in one year to those charities.”(Diana, Princess of Wales). Diana captured the hearts of millions as those millions tuned in to watch their once beloved princess be put to rest. Still today her remembrance of charity work and love towards everyone became our knowledge and memory of England's Rose.
