Peter Feigl, as a Child (USHMM)

Peter Feigl is someone that not only survived the Holocaust, but someone that keeps himself involved in teaching about the Holocaust. He volunteers at schools, and he makes appearances at Yom Hoshoah events. He is a true hero, in the respect to teach. He wants everyone to be aware of their actions and what not, but also to stand up against injustice and put an end to it before it spins out of control. He continues to teach and to promote justice for those who did not get the justice that they needed during the Holocaust. He is a hero, not a superhero that saves an entire town from destruction from monsters, but a Hero that would save humanity (along with other survivors) from letting the Shoah (Holocaust) ever occur again. When he was saved by the village of Le-Chambon in France, he used that compassion and willingness to share his story with the world and to be active in speaking at schools and colleges. Peter Feigl is a hero, a hero that will be remembered for every word he said and for teaching the world about compassion and being brave when the world may be against you.

Peter Feigl was and continues to be a Jew. When he was growing up, much of the the world was against all Jews. He grew up during the Holocaust and he was a target for deportation and murder. When his parents were arrested in 1942, Peter began a diary that he would later donate to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. He was sheltered in a village in France called Le-Chambon-sur-Lingon. When he managed to get to the States in 1947, he had joined the air force and then later, donated his 2 diaries (he wrote the 2nd one later on) to the USHMM (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum).

Today, he and his wife, live in Florida, where he is very active in speaking to schools and at colleges.
