Pietro Ferrero

Pietro Ferrero is the founder of the "Ferrero" company. He was born in Italy in 1898. In 1942, he opened a small business in Alba (Italy), producing food products using Hazelnuts. In 1946 he invented "Pasta Gianduja", the predecessor of Nutella. Pasta gianduja was a great success. Because of the high demand, Pietro Ferrero had to open a factory and he called it Ferrero. His son, Michele Ferrero, later on modified the recipe of creme Gianduja, creating Nutella, which is now sold all over the world! Amazingly the original formula hasn't changed since 1963.

Pietro Ferrero is my hero because without him there would be no Nutella.
